My experience with thomann 1sr purchase was really good I got the black Flying V superb guitar for the money the only thing I found was the tuners weren’t good (unstable) but the guitar came immaculate I’m in uk so free postage and no custom fees so all in all a great experience.

Just purchased a TE-20HH from Thomann Music. Purchased online on a Friday, received the guitar on Wednesday the following week. A total of 5 days, including the weekend, to get from Germany to Nevada USA. Perfectly smooth transaction.

I recently purchased 2 of the DC Juniors while they had some in stock with the fat necks (which they've improved a lot) and from the time they shipped it from Germany, it arrived in Indiana in less than 3 days! I was astonished! Even faster than Sweetwater, who is only a couple of hundred miles away... They did seem to take longer to inspect the guitars, which they didn't use to do at all....

I almost bought that white LP last week but decided to go for the Prince tele copy instead as I don't have one like that and I now have a few LP copies from various sellers. Mine takes at least 2-3 weeks to my door as once it reaches Canada in 2 days, it sits in customs at Canada post most of that time. Once cleared, and sometimes I get taxed and other times not, it's another 2-3 days to move it 65 miles to me. When I made my account, I didn't need to wait, it happened immediately. It must be your shifty eyes. hahahaha.

I live in the UK, so for most orders the shipping is free. But returning bad or damaged items is not, and even though we are not that far from Bavaria it costs a lot to return a large box. I am lucky in that i work for a firm that has accounts with UPS and a few others, but even at trade prices you soon end up out of pocket. I have found HB guitars a mixed bag, i had to reject and return 3 samples of a CST24 before Thomann refused to send any more. I now only buy from their Fusion range, these are made in indonesia, and don't suffer from the poor quality that plagues the made in China models. I think Thomann are like a lot of sellers, they are good provided that you don't as i did get a run of bad samples, they badly need to introduce some inhouse checks before sending out guitars rather than relying on the customer doing the quality control for them. Sometimes in life you get what you pay for and sometimes you don't!🤔

Back before the Cuffdemic DHL had the transport deal and you could get up to 3 guitars shipped for under $40.00 based on a weight limit. BUT.... when 2020 hit DHL couldn't get access to air freight and it all went to %^%#^. I had a shipment stuck in customs and transport for 6 weeks. When it did arrive the box looked like a bag! Somehow the guitars survived with only a "poke" mark on a fret board from a box puncture. I was able to repair that with steaming the spot. The funniest part was dragging the Bag that was a box in the house and some small parts I ordered were "leaking" out of the bagsih box. Nothing was missing as the package let go in my home.. DHL went to sea container transport and Thomann stopped using DHL. I placed my order early on a Saturday morning so it should ship on Monday. Transport costs have doubled from 2020 but 3 days is better than 2 to 3 weeks on DHL at half the price. I still got a better deal than buying from Thomann USA with free shipping. Thomann USA has a limited line and one item had to come direct. As a double bonus I could add on a Thomann Gig bag for a guitar for on $17.00. That bag would be near $50.00 for a comparable item in the USA. Take the win, get the bag.

You are 100% correct. I ordered my hollow body on a Monday. 2 days later it was at my door perfect box. I ordered my second hollow body on a Thursday. It was sitting with UPS over the weekend and all day Monday . When it came late Tuesday night the box was mangled and the guitar was damaged. The driver even told me that that's what happens when big boxes sit around Hubs over the weekend. It wasn't his fault. Btw. I got lucky the guitar was not damaged bad. Just a few scuffs.Thanks for the video brother. I wish I could have seen it before my last order.

I have an idea for you. I have a music room with real amps and lots of guitars, but I sit in the garage to smoke a lot, and I want to hang out in my bedroom too,, so I want to have amplification both places. Bought a little fenderini deluxe for $50, and an orange crush mini for $75 off Amazon. The fender arrived Saturday, crappy little thing, volume, tone, gain, off on switch. Decided to keep it just cause of the hassle to send it back. The orange arrived today. It absolutely kicks butt, volume, tone gain, us tuner, amp turns on when you plug in, headphone jack, speaker out, aux in. And it sounds like a small version of a real amp, its fantastic. The fender, not so much. So, a comparison video would be a cool thing, just a thought. I'd like people to pay the extra 25 for something 25 times better :)

A few things its been a few years since I ordered from thomman but my shippimg was no where near as fast my quality was good but not gushy good like you describe sharp,fret ends etc.. But the shipping is a flat rate so to,make it worth your while get a list together and get a 2x12 4x12 2 guitars some,pedals,cables,picks strings gonna cost you about 70 bucks shipping if you order a 12 pack of,picks only gonna coat you 70 bucks,shipping,so thats the good and bad of the shipping

I ordered a Harley Benton from Thomann on a Monday got it on Thursday to California, it was perfect the Bass and the shipping box no damage. I ordered another bass on Thursday nite 9pm it was 6am friday in Germany, Thomann processed and shipped it on Friday got to Louisville KY on Saturday.. THE WEEKEND... Your words are so true.. the box UPS delivered was punched in on the front the bottom corner was kicked in and the top of the box was completely ripped open. The side staples were torn open with some tape replacement leaving a 2" gap. lucky the Bass was fine cuz Thomann doubled boxed my purchase.. lesson learned, order on Monday. I took your advise and bought a case both were in the same shipping box which probably saved my bass guitar... Sorry American labor get your chit together

QC stops me from buying more HB guitars. not knowing wheather you need a fret job with SS frets is a $80 gamble. string buzz string height issues, I know these can be adjusted but the problem often lies else where. I dont mind spending under 200 for a cheap mod platfrom, but to sink 300/400 is a gamble. costs YOU to return it. I wannna buy a HB les paul 550, for £250 but i worry about frets and string action. My 2 HB guitars are fret clangers, set up proffesionally at an additional cost to me, but the frets still clang when i bang out a bar chord accousticlly. A neck shim would probably fix it but its a neck though guitar. This is the stuff that HB dont worry about.

To my understanding, they're going to open a logistic hub in the US, at least for the most popular product line. That, I guess, would be a gamechanger for you guys over there in the US. As far as my experience with Thomann goes, I can't help but praise them. I know that's not gold all that glitters, but they usually have a very solid customer service. I can't say that it works as good for international shippings as well, but to me they've always been very responsive.

Thomann USA is open but its on a Reverb store which was a very bad idea.The software is clunky and you seem to get the Reverb up charge like it or not. I placed a order with Thomann in Germany paid $85.00 shipping and still beat the Thomann USA price. I expect if f they got off Reverb and had a free standing web site the prices could be more competitive. Years ago I begged Thomann to open a USA store and they thought that was crazy and laughed at the idea. I was told that will never happen. I guess the loss of sales to the USA during the Cuffdemic changed their mind. I know I didn't buy from them for 3 years over the shipping fiasco. But I can still get a better deal buying direct. I hope they get that worked out. Somehow I expect direct form the USA facility will still be slower than the 3 day air freight fro Germany. Free shipping translates to slow shipping in English.. :)

They have a warehouse in Pennsylvania. A lot of guitars are shipped from there if in stock. Ordering an expensive amp, cross your fingers customs doesn't hit ya with a import tax.

I ordered a $2,600 Hanika classical guitar from Thomann. The transaction was perfect until it landed in Philadelphia after two days transit from Germany. It was held up clearing customs. I was tagged for about 150 bucks for duty fees, and another 150 for the broker. The whole process took about 10 days. Thomann sent the USDA Lacy act paperwork to customs and I paid the customs paper hangers thru UPS their fees. It seems lower priced guitars don't trigger customs and/or the woods they are made from don't seem much of a concern either....That's my guess....But be prepared if you order something expensive acoustic-- like a Lakewood guitar or a high end classical. It may be delayed, and you will have to make a few calls to UPS. My guitar came through in perfect condition. I'm glad I bought it. I had no problems with Thomann. And shipping from Germany to anywhere USA for about 80 bucks? That's deal.

Personally we really like Harley Benton. I recently had an issue with a blemished guitar, and the customer service was very helpful. I plan on buying many more. I understand your concerns though. Got a guitar and amp last week. I'm in Ireland. Shipping was free. It took 10 days to arrive to my home but it actually arrived in Ireland from Germany in 3 days it then took the irish post-office 7 days to deliver. Very happy with both guitar and amp

@@FultonStreetBeats I ordered one on 20 june, it arrived a week later but bridge pickup wasn't working, it took them almost 2 months to get me a new guitar and that guitar was damaged during transportation and, in my opinion, looked like a b stock, they emailed me today that my guitar will arrive next week, I dont know what to hope for. I got 2 bad guitars lol. As I said I ordered 20/06 and as of today 01/09 I have no functional guitar, hopefully next week I will, and I'm from Europe... edit: altho I ordered a schecter demon 8 a while back and it was flawless, and the hb isnt my first guitar so I'm not worried. I'll ask for a refund if it's not working next week

Not sure of your logic, as ordering at the beginning of the week puts it hitting the US at the beginning of the weekend. Ie, I ordered my HB Mar 15 (tuesday), it shipped the 17th (thursday), delivered th 21st (monday). I would think ordering later in the week (Wednesday being the best?) would mean it's on a plane over the weekend and is delivered on a weekday... Mine was undamaged, and 1 pickup wouldn't work, I called, they asked for a video, I sent it, they said, try deoxit in the switch, I did, and I emailed them back thanking them for not just saying return it, like others would. So, there's another pro, they dont want to waste your time or theirs, if they can help.you in place, they were saying if it didn't work, they'd get a local.tech to fix it. How cool is that?

They Usually arrive within two-three days. If you look at check out it will tell you arrival time. If it hits the states and it has to sit over the weekend thats usually bad news. Now common sense would be that this does not always hold true but the odds are greatly increased with anything that sits in a hub longer. Thomann gets it out asap. The trip over is quick so it will still sit in a hub when it arrives. The package is to the states within hrs once its in the air. So if you order on a Friday it will not make it to you by Monday. UPS will have it Friday when it arrives. Sat, Sun, and Monday (Which is when it would go to your local UPS hub, Then hopefully to you by Tuesday. I order 1-3 guitars a month. I pretty much know the shipping game here. My last Benton's box was so badly damaged (ordered on a Friday and kicked around until Syracuse NY for three days Until they finally sent it 60 miles to my hub.) Its the same all around. Fedex, UPS, USPS. If you don't have weekend delivery available. Its a crap shoot. Now shipping speed once here will be determined by how close the entry Hub is to you. My order placed today (Monday) @ 7:00 am will be here Wednesday by noon. Most of the time the timeframe they give you is spot on. Hope tis helps. Thats awesome about the customers service. Going to order a HB tele around the first of the year if no wwiii. Wish HB would offer more "picture" wood finishes choices for the guitars they make that way. That is kind of the allure of both firefly and wolf aio etc. Some LP tops are enough to make you drool. Also wish HB would do a small low wattage tweed combo that is 6L6 or 6V6 ala FDR. Please no champ copy with 8 inch speaker. Ten or twelve on the speaker. I am really looking forward to HB guitar and related HB tube amp.

@@FultonStreetBeats my guitar teacher is a professional musician with many years of both teaching and preforming under his belt. He is also a Rob Chapman fan and my teacher watched the Rob Chapman review of the HB 15 tube amp. I thought it sounded great (especially for the price point!) and Chapman seemed to like it quite a bit but my teacher friend complained about the mid range due to small cabinet. However… for the price. Whew!! What a steal!! With tube and speaker upgrade that thing might sound fantastic.

Wow! I'm a little late to the party, but this was an excellent explanation of the experience with Thomann and Harley Benton guitars. Thomann makes it incredibly easy to develop G.A.S.! I have 4 basses and 3 electric guitars (including the very same SC 500 in white). I've become a big fan of Harley Benton and definitely subscribed to your channel to see your next aquisition from them. Great content!

I have never ordered a guitar or bass from them, but I did order an amp from them one time (a Warwick Gnome). When I did, NOWHERE on the page did it say anything about the voltage. I got the amp and it was 240V. I contacted them about the error and pointed out that the product page didn't list anything about the voltage being 240V. They thanked me and told me that they would update the page to reflect that and said I could return the amp and gave me an RMA#. Here's where the REAL problem occurred. While it only cost about $20 to ship the amp to me....it was going to cost me $130 to ship it BACK to them. I contacted them to see if they would cover the return shipping. Crickets. I emailed again. Silence. $130 to ship it back is almost as much as I paid to buy the amp and have it shipped to me in the first place. Now I am stuck with a paper weight of an amp that I can't use. And before anyone suggests it, yes, a voltage converter is an option, but not really when the lightest converter I have found weighs 4 times what the amp weighs...kind of ruins the portability of it. So...this is why I will not be giving them my money for anything in the future. So, as long as you don't ever plan to return something to them, you're probably ok.

Excellent video. All of this has been my experience also. For the $$ you really can't go wrong with a HB...I have 3 and they are all great rigs. One caveat for us Canadians..expect a 20% duty charge. Still, even then, they are the best deal going. I suspect their prices may start creeping up. Thanks for the info.

My review after having bought gear from thomann since 2016 is do NOT buy Harley Benton, they break instantly. Just do not buy anything from Thomann if you expect any customer service
