Great channel. I got a few HB guitars, 100% right they need a bit of effort in them but the value is amazing. I've ended up with a great hobby, playing and fixing up guitars. Great information, keep up the good work 👍

That's why I upgraded my Epiphone LP Standard Pro to equal the quality of what a Gibson SHOULD be. The wood and the frets stayed but everything else was upgraded and has received many compliments on how it plays and feels. All that including the cost of the guitar for less than a Gibson Les Paul Junior.

Smart. Informative. Honest. This is the real deal, and this is my philosphy as well, regarding inexpensive guitars. If you want a cheaper guitar, get ready to put some sweat into it... I honestly don't mind it, and I'm happier when I can turn a so-so guitar into a great guitar (by my standards). Well done, Danny.

If you are going to buy even a HB with stainless frets it’s worth the money to have it plecked, you will never need to level those frets in your lifetime, nickel or mystery metal frets it’s not worth the money but stainless yes worth every penny, you will still need to do fret ends eventually because that is from changes in the wood not in the frets. Also don’t buy “guitar” tools or materials you will over pay and unless it’s your profession you don’t need a tool that will be used everyday and last for 20 years. Don’t buy “nut” files buy torch nozzle files same thing way less expensive. If you have basic tools you already own most of what you need. It’s also worth learning how to solder and basic wiring.

I disagree with getting things pleked.. unless it is free for some reason... at thoman I think it is just under $200 to have a guitar pleked. thats $200. tools to do your own fret level crown and polish at home is nowhere near that, and if you get 10 guitars thats almost 2 grand in plek money or just $60 for DIY... if you got the time.

I agree 100% about the tools. I have a full roll of Stewmac fret files and they are great. The problem is I never use them. Once I discovered the right triangle file (Bacho single cut) and polished the corners, that's all I use now for crowning and end dress. Good shout on the torch tools.

Hi Dan. I have an hb cst24 and sc550ii, both with light colored jatoba fretboards. How can I make them darker safely and uniformly? What's the recipe, and is it safe long term? Post a video of how to do it!

My bank informed me when making purchases outside the US to contact them first so it will go through. I will have them on the line as I do it when it comes time. Otherwise they won't allow it either. Hopefully that helps. As soon as I can afford to,.. I plan to buy the SC450Plus Lemon Drop! Also plan to buy Seymore Duncan's Whole Lotta Humbuckers, Gotoh Tuners and upgrade all the electronics too. Just want that beautiful well made guitar! *Of course,.. I watched Danny's video on Quality Control Issues on these guitars and they're minor in my opinion.*

Thanks for your comment. I ordered a guitar from them, and nothing happened. Now I'm m waiting to hear back, days later. This is prob why, I'm in the US and they're not. Frustrating. It's like, do you want to sell me a guitar or not?

I'm definitely going to take the time to watch this video later when I have some free time. I've been trying to order from Harley Benton-Thomann for over a year, and every time I try, my order is rejected. I hope you'll give me some pointers on how to make sure that my order gets processed so I can get the guitars I want.

If it is a payment issue, they also take wire transfers. My credit card gives me issues because it is all of a sudden in Germany, so it raises red flags. I still have not heard back about my existing order... but I will wait a few more days..

@@guitarhobbywithdannythemedic They usually get back to me within 24 hours. I'm thinking of getting my bank involved and having the bank order the items for me. I also use a credit card, and I have more than enough to pay for the items, plus shipping, custom fees, taxes, etc.

I ordered a guitar set which is currently out of stock ( usually available in 2-5 days), and I was wondering if it's guaranteed that they will bring it back in stock in 2-5 days, and then shipped to me. Did anyone else experienced that?

I guess you mean the cheapest ones? Those didnt do it for me. I liked the middle ones. what you do is simply put the model number into youtube and lots of reviews and demos of whatever you wanna see

I used to have great guitars and electronics, and money! haha. I did keep the acoustics. So I am looking around for an accessible setup with a limited budget.
