I think, even on the photo the dress doesn't scream 'expensive'. What do you expect, it's highly metallic, falling fabric, and striking pink. Conservatively it won't land you in galas. However, it screams FAB, GORGE, MOMMA GIVING. And the real thing delivers, even more so with how well it fitted Naomi's body type and PERSONALITY. I cheered hard when she came out with the dress. She (the dress) never is and never need to be expensive, she's not that gal. She's a confident, deep pink, reflective siren.

devil inspired is actually a taobao reseller. Taobao is basically the amazon of china and there are a bunch of lesser known lolita brands sold on there that aren't available outside of China without a reseller or shopping service. I think the reason the processing times vary so greatly is that devil inspired has to wait on their stock to arrive from taobao on top of regular shipping/processing time. Anyway, love your hair, great video!!

(in case you couldn't tell, I'm into and wear lolita fashion, and I've also ordered from devilinspired before. also, I heard that DI used to be like a genuine straight up scam but then they rebranded and aren't as much as a scam anymore. they're definitely places with lower markups though).

Pro mermaid here! The resin top is sooo pretty and honestly looks amazing on you. Mermaid Lucia is a company that makes/sell dropship mermaid items and is somewhat notorious in the professional mermaid industry. Drop shipping isn't inherently bad but this "mermaid lucia" company has blatantly copied the intellectual property of Finfolk Productions numerous times (the maker of the tail and top you wore in your Taboo music video!) in the form of copying tail designs. Definitely something to keep in mind when using/promotion these items to your audience

Nice seeing another mer in the comments section. Has Finfolk considered doing tops kinda like this? I know they are already killing it with the resin mermaid scales they sell. I bought some and made a cool Na'vi inspired woven top with a few of the scales dangling off of it. Clearly there is room for improvement with the Lucia resin tops since like Naomi said it is poking her arm on one side and her armpit on the other. Also, I know you work for Finfolk. Please keep me in mind if you all ever need remote graphic design work or something artsy. I've made my own sublimated fabric tail and I personally printed it from the machine, transfered the design from paper to fabric, cut & sewed it, etc. I haven't shared it online but I'm really proud of it. It is super realistic design wise. It just doesn't have a huge fluke due to the press size limiations here where I work. I know you all have a zillion people wanting to work for you or be you or whatever. I don't want to come off as another annoying person. I'm just honnestly ready for a more creative job is all. As a crocheter and knitter, it looks to me like the pink "crochet" set is actually KNITTED! (fun fact the first knitting machine was invented in 1589 for knitting socks) When something has lots of lacy holes people tend to assume its crochet, but you can get an open lacy effect with knitting too

Depending on the material, you could heat the wing tips with a blow dryer and very slowly softly bend them out away from your body so they don't poke you....

Crocheter here! The pink sparkly dress set is both knitted and crocheted. The sleeves are for sure knitted and the wings and other string parts are crochet. The body of the top and skirt look knitted but I may be wrong. If the stitches look similar to the sleeves then it’s knitted :) Also I’m obsessed with you hair and style ahhhhh 🤍🤍

The thing about Devil Inspired is that it's not a clothing brand, they are retailers of smaller brands, some of the being indie, some of them being more commercial, it kinda depends on what you get to find there, that's why the processing time of each piece is so different (they belong to different shops)

20+ year knitter and crocheter here. The work from beach be like piece is knitted. Some of the string looks like chain stitch in crochet which is one of the few crochet stitches that can be machine done as the mechanics of it are very similar to machine knitting, and can be created with a version of the same tool. If you’ve ever seen a rug hook tool (a hook with a little latch that swings back and forth opening and closing a loop to pull the yarn which creates a stitch and reposition itself in the new stitch to start a new cycle), both machine knit and crochet chain stitch can be created with a bunch of those mounted on a machine (machine knit), and the crochet chain stitch can be done with a single one and a change in where the yarn is held as it is fed in. Of course these can both also be done by hand with traditional tools. Technically you can also create the crochet chain stitch with knitting needles (wouldn’t recommend it, but no one can stop you lol). At the end of the day it’s all just pulling a string through a hole with a stick with various flourishes in between. It really isn’t as hard or complicated as people make it out to be lol

Hi naomi! for the devilinspired one, all the dresses are very detailed is because theyre all lolita dresses! lolita is a Japanese fashion subculture and like you said they're very "kawaii". the reason why all the processing times for each dress is different is because devilinspired doesnt actually design and make the dresses they are only RESELLERS, that basically sell different dresses from different taobao brands. taobao is a Chinese market app that sells things from clothing to appliances, basically a chinese amazon. the reason devilinspired resells is because taobao is a hard app to use for foreigners so devilinspired acts as a shopping service for non Chinese lolitas that want to buy taobao lolita dresses! hope this helps!

also to add on devilinspired is sorta..reputable in the lolita community as some lolitas have gotten the exact dresses they ordered from their website, albeit very late. but devilinspired is also notorious for having really poor management and poor customer service so us lolitas kind of stray away from buying from devilinspired, as they also mark up the price! instead we buy directly from the actual indie stores that make the clothing

All my life I've been waiting to see a fabric that truly reminded me of the material of Ariel's shimmery purple dress at the end of The Little Mermaid... THIS is the closest I've seen. Looks like shimmering pink water. If it were purple and had some flecks of high shine fine glitter it would be so close to the fabric I imagined.

The wool set is mostly knitted. Maybe some details are crocheted. But as someone who crochets clothes I can say that the price is definitely legit. I would charge about 300 euros for a crocheted skirt (regular length, midi on smol people) and shruggie set. Two reasons are the high quality yarn and the time it needs to be finished. A set like this is quite comparable to the set in the video. Mine took about 40 hours to get finished with sewing and so on. Happy holidays to everyone!🎄

So, yeah, says all you need to know about the business practices. Devil Inspired has been around quite a while actually. There are.....a lot of verifying opinions about it. I do Lolita, and let's be honest, the community is pretty snobby. A lot of the groups and meetups ban Devil Inspired outfits (or coords) because it's seen as 'cheap' and 'cheating'. I feel like metallic latex in general has that look to it where it’s hard to determine whether it looks a little cheap or not, even if it is expensively made. It’s just one of those styles that’s a little campy, but this looks gorgeous. It just needs nice accessories and confidence.

For the pink dress, i loooove the material’s shine, and I think some body chains, or something similar, could obscure the bikini-top-shaped seams and elevate the dress overall. Personally, I’m thinking to go with something silver, and then pair that with a silver heel of some kind too. You can probably do some real crazy layering, harajuku-style, or a wild headpiece of some kind, but those are just my initial thoughts on how to fix the part that’s disappointing.

My daughter has the same style backing to her wings that she wears for the ren fest. She added elastic arm loops to hers. You should also be able to the shape the wings. Like the little wings, you could push down and out to make a little more natural looking.

The set is definitely a knit-pro knitting machines are super advanced and most of the stuff labeled as crochet in big box stores are actually knits made to look like crochet (they call it crochet when crochet is trendy). There are, of course, still humans and handwork involved in the manufacturing process but that is true for all textile products. Source: am industry professional. As a fellow pale person I would also feel naked in that light of color but from an outside perspective I think the colors look very sweet & ethereal-especially with the hair!! The second item (or third not counting the red corset top) is definitely knitted! Without a closer look, I couldn’t tell you if it’s machine or hand knitted, but the gauge/tension looks kind of uneven, so it might be hand knitted, or it might be the yarn.
