Thank you Travis. I keep trying to find a fossil turtle for you!

Thanks for sharing ❤️ So similar to what I find on the Nth coast of Tasmania! Beautiful. Edit!! Except the fossils! ❤️

So cool! It's amazing how similar the beaches are on opposite sides of the planet. That's great that you're finding cool stuff. Mamlambo, who is in New Zealand, finds similar fossils and ages to what we have right here in our fossil record. That seems so crazy to me also! But we don't get the penguins, at least no one has found any yet, lol. Thanks so much for watching and happy hunting!

Awesome rockhounding trip to the beach. You found some gorgeous shells, I love them! The agates you found are fantastic, especially the blue black. Looking at the slices under the microscope is always amazing. You pup is so cute. He's so much bigger than the last time I saw him. Thanks so much for sharing this Karen!✌️🤠🤘

Thanks, Kyla! It was so good to finally get back down to the beach after storms and snow and everything! Those agates came a'dancing out at me, I was shocked at how many there were on the beach. I left so many behind for others, lol. The microscope part is just too much fun, I'm glad others are enjoying it, I'd hate to nerd out all by myself. It's crazy how quickly Owyhee grew into a handsome young stud! He's almost one and he did much better on his second beach rockhounding trip, lol. Thanks so much for watching, cheers!

That was so much fun. I'm so glad my phone came in time. Wasn't that fun? See what happens when you step away from the faceting machine for a minute? Lol.that was awesome Karen. So many agates out there too.I miss the coast.i need to make a trip to the coast soon. Thanks Karen. It was a nice break!

That was spectacular timing with your new phone, so happy you could make it. Yes, it's good to take a break and go down to the beach. Even though it was cold, the sun felt so good and everything seemed like it was in technicolor. You definitely need to come out and get it in your eyes and breathe it in, good stuff. Thanks so much for watching, cheers!

Wouldn't it be great to get the teredo worm's eye view of the whole thing? Got kinda close with the microscope. Thanks for nerding out with me, happy trails!

Didn't know that there was that much bone to be found, or what a concretion could hold! Headed to Moolak this wonderful damp winter weekend in the hopes that there will be some excitement.

Hiya, awesome video and I love the walk on the beach, in the teadoux wood, I'm not sure how to spell it, do you find very small seashells and fish scales in it sometimes? Just curious, because I think I have found some of it on the Gulf coast before, but wasn't sure what it was. Any who! I hope you and yours, have a awesome blessed day. Cya! 😺🐟 out!

I'm not sure about the fish scales. We find very small seashells for sure, like I was saying about the 'Forams' or Foraminifera, and I love looking inside to see what's in the sedimentary matrix. The only confirmed fish scales I've found were from Warfield fossil fish (from Kemmerer, Wyo.) so a far cry from the ocean I have right next door, lol. I'm betting that you have plenty out there on the gulf coast and I hope you get a chance to look closer. I'd love to hear if you find some! Thank you so much for watching and hope you have a blessed day as well! Cheers!

where was this?? you mentioned that summer isnt very good because all the sand blows in. do you try to time your trip right after a storm?
@OzoneFineArtVentures3 ай бұрын
Cheers James, in my immediate area, after the storms can be good (ie. in the winter). There are other parts of the coast where cobbles show all summer long and fun stones can be discovered. We're central Oregon Coast, so hunting in the winter and spring are good times when it's not dangerous from sneaker waves and nasty weather. We look for areas where the foul weather rakes the sand off the reefs and then wait for the low tides to see what may be revealed. Thanks for watching and I hope that answers your question!

What beach was this filmed at? Beverly?
@OzoneFineArtVentures Жыл бұрын
I haven't been up to Beverly recently, actually. This is south of that but it was filling in fast. I went a couple of days and it seemed like it was changing before my eyes. These nice days with wind and mellow surf really brings the sand back in. 😭

Funny how you're calling some of the stones you find "Agates"?? They are Chalcedony...there are differences. A true Agate has banding. Some you are showing & calling Agates don't have banding at all... They are Chalcedony because they have quarts and are translucent. Therefore you should be saying Chalcedony.
@OzoneFineArtVentures Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your thoughtful response. The reason I call those beach agates, agates, is because they are agates. You bring up a great point about chalcedony, but these agates at the beach are microcrystalline silicates and have fortification lines putting them well into the class of being an agate. Thank you for watching!
