I recently used mine to really cut something up for the first time since I made the video. An old partially dead orange tree. The saw went though it like butter, The oil lasted quite a long time. I even did a few cross cuts on the stump to make it easier to cut low to the ground. The kick back shut off worked perfectly when I was cutting down a grape vine too close to a chain link fence and caught the fence. The teeth were not damaged and the sharpening worked perfectly. Really a nice saw for working around the house.

This could have saved so many lives in the 70's if we would have had electrics during the Texss chainsaw massacre era ......

The sprocket on yours is different than my CS1500. Getting the chain on there was a massive pain the first time but I've never worked with a chainsaw before. Now I can't get the chain to fit around the sprocket again, it's simply too tight even when its at its loosest. The chain came off mine after cutting thru some measly little bushes but it was tightened to the bottom of the bar like the manual says.

In the U.K. Same box but chain in a bag and chain guide wrapped in brown paper. No oil supplied. Chain tensioner also different and even different to the one in the instructions supplied with my chainsaw! No one answered the phone when I tried to speak to someone about the mismatch between the instructions and what was in the box. Chain saw brilliant once put together. I bought the chainsaw 3rd December 2020.

Just bought one of these but no oil supplied. Fortunately I bought a bottle of oil at the same time, not knowing if I would need it immediately. Perhaps it's a different package in the UK? Works well and am pleased with my purchase.

Malcolm Alexander - just got mine home and also has no oil which I thought it would come with. I also brought additional oil just in case. Are you happy with your purchase??

will this work with a ripper chain?
@ObsessionoftheMonth3 жыл бұрын
you can use any chain saw blade of the right size BUT you cannot use the sharpener. The sharpener works only with the specific blades for this chainsaw.

Chainsaws don't have blades

@@beetooex What do you mean?

@@christiangalles9563 I was correcting the terminology in his reply to you when he referred to the chain as a "blade". A bit unnecessary but I was in a bad mood since I lost my job. However he was right- Out of the box, the saw is only setup to take Oregon Powersharp chains but if you remove the grindstone you can use any chain of .050 (gauge) 3/8 lo pro (pitch). There's a few ripping chains available in this size, the Stihl one seems to be most popular. As the most powerful corded electric saw available (at least in the UK) it's probably the cheapest way to make a small chainsaw mill setup but it's still too underpowered to take a longer bar for slabbing timber and I'm sceptical how long it'll last under heavy use. It'll probably work ok on a vertical mount beam cutter where an 18" bar is the longest you'd need. I find a 16" bar is best for making gateposts. If you needed a wider cut you'd want to run the very lightweight 1/4" .043" chains but you'd obviously need to replace the bar and drive sprocket. Husqvarna make a 1/4" sprocket in DD shaft mount that may be compatible and chainsawbars.co.uk have a custom made 20" bar. However that's an A095 mount rather than the K041 mount pattern that the saw its designed for so the oiling holes don't match up. You'd either need to modify the bar pad on the saw or file the bar like people do when they need to convert them. There's instructions on forums if you Google. A 1/4" setup is fragile and needs meticulous maintenance but rips fine with just standard chain sharpened at the normal angle. I'm thinking of felling and slabbing up in the woods with my petrol saw and doing the final cuts at home with electric where fumes and noise would be an issue.
