Eating random plants is dangerous, please do not. The Vetch I mention in this can be harmful to humans but is also edible when done correctly. According to a Wild Food UK: "A member of the pea family, Fabaceae, which forms the third largest plant family in the world with over thirteen thousand species. Of these species, the bitter vetch, was one of the first domesticated crops grown by neolithic people. There are many different vetch species, the purple flowered varieties are all safe to eat, see Hedgerow Confusion below. Other Vetches, some of which are toxic to ruminents and should also be avoided by humans. If you stick to any vetch with purple flowers growing along the flower stem and not in a ‘crown’ on top, and the plant does not have long, obvious ‘hairs’, you should be safe. Common vetch has small ‘hairs’ on the leaves but these are less obvious." www.wildfooduk.com/edible-wild-plants/vetch-3/

if you go up zinc creek roughly 6 miles, you will be at the spot. There will be a few forks in the road and you will want to take a left on the fork that is flat. After that you will see flat openings about 200ft off the road (also on the left). hope you find something good and please SHARE the video to help me make more content. If you have any places you would like me to check out, let me know anytime. Thanks and good luck!!

After we went rockhounding with ya, we drove along the Umpqua River Oregon Scenic Highway. Aww man, was some of the most beautiful part of country I've ever seen. Maryland, Virginia, Colorado and Hawaii are at the top of my list, but now I've got Oregon in top 5. The water was super clear out along the Umpqua! I saw too much poison ivy for my liking everywhere I stopped to cool off. Hope you were able to steer clear of it. All kinds of cool interesting rock specimens. Nice agatey goodness! Rhyolite around there much different than stuff I find here in Wisconsin. Great finds! Catch ya later! 😁👍

I got "blue" agate rock from this store in a mall. It's beautiful, the quartz on it is amazing and it has a small quartz pocket and It's a pretty big quarter chunk. Why I'm say "blue" like this is because it's so obvious that it's been dyed. The outside of the rock is literally Royal blue pen ink, and also has the metallic sheen that ink has in some spots. Luckily I only paid 30 for it.

Man I've been up and down the south fork many times and seen zinc creek as well but I never knew about that geode flats area. I don't suppose you would care to share that location? I understand if you'd rather not but I have to ask.

@@reneebeltran7628 if you go up zinc creek roughly 6 miles, you will be at the spot. There will be a few forks in the road and you will want to take a left on the fork that is flat. After that you will see flat openings about 200ft off the road (also on the left). hope you find something good and please share the video to help me make more content. If you have any places you would like me to check out, let me know anytime. Thanks and good luck!!

@@TheRogueRockhound id be honored to go up there with you. There is actually a carnelian dig up zinc creek. Bad ass carnelian agates. Mostly smalls because its a popular spot but you can find decent size ones. How do i contact you? We live in Myrtle Creek by the way

I believe your comment about vatch is lacking. The plant is toxic. I don’t think people should have the idea they could eat said plant. Great caution is advised. Should be added. Thanks for your time

Interesting but not very inviting territory you shared. You've been very clear abt snaks, even rattle snakes. Poorly kept camping spots. If this is your invitation for us to visit Oregon, it seems uninviting.
