Another nice video. I'm an eternally beginner pianist and play on a Yamaha digital keyboard. There are two organ buttons, and I use them sometimes. I'm learning to sightread Bach Chorales, just in two voices. I try three voice, but I have a lot of room for improvement. When I have learned to play those chorales, I always try them on the organ. It just seems the right thing to do.. I will explore your channel to see if you already discuss using a digital keyboard.

@@topmusicco wow, thanks for reaching out! It actually went very well... But i need more practice. These videos are very helpful. I need help with learning the stops, though. Maybe an idea for a future video? ;) I love the pianist-learning-organ approach... Spot on! Cheers!

Nice hearing you; I didn't know you were an organist. Just FYI - the word you were looking for in both episodes but didn't say is division, not rank. The swell, great, choir, pedal, and antiphonal are divisions. A division is a collection of many ranks of pipes controlled by a particular manual or the pedalboard. And, yes, I purposely didn't mention floating divisions! I hope that helps to clarify, and you probably knew all of that anyway.

Thanks Broc. My terminology has been lost Over the years. Definitely wouldn’t call myself a real organist 😂 nice to hear from you btw. Hope ur well.

Hi Tim, just two questions. What organ hymn book were you using in this video and what are some of your favourite organ hymns to play (besides the ones in part 1 and 2)? Thanks for the helpful video!

Hey Gerard. It’s the Australian Hymnal - based very much on Church of England music. Oh I’ve got lots but don’t have the book with all my bookmarks and dog ears with me! But a few from memory are 1 be thou my vision 2 I vow to thee 3 dear lord and father 4 Jerusalem 5 abide in me
