Great video Karen!!!!!!! I loved every minute- thanks for keeping me company today! I so agree with you- you just never know what one kernel of an idea will spark a whole big idea. I loved-loved seeing your catalog. And yes, slide over on the bench, totally enamored with paper here. LOL! But for a low cost- it brings us so much joy right, absolutely! So excited you have jumped into the YT video land, because it is always fun to see others organize, scrap and overall thought process. Thanks for sharing your process and plan. Loved it! Hugs!!

I like your helpful organization idea for paper/paper pads. I've been doing a catalog for my dies, stamps, stencils, & embellishments and, like you, get the picture from online when I make a purchase or just take a photo myself. Soon, I will take you up on your idea for paper as well. I have some 12 x 12 sheet protectors with 4 x 4 slots and I think I will use those for starters, to see a broad view of what I have to at least get the categories together and then go with your way of binding. Thanks for sharing. Oh, I found your comment that you liked to organize as much as papercrafting and just had to laugh - years ago I realized my hobby went from photography, to scrapbooking to organizing my supplies! I understand.

Diana ... thanks so much for taking the time to leave me this comment. I have my dies, stamps somewhat organized but I still need to work on a reference catalog. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to use to create a catalog. I would love to know what you used to do you catalog? lol ... nice to know I'm not the only one who loves to organize ... I've started thinking of it as my third hobby right along with scrapbooking and shopping for crafty supplies :)

@@YesPleasePapercrafts I started out using what Tiffany does with the Scrap Rack but I wanted to have mine smaller so I moved to a regular 3-ring binder which is now one with a 5 inch spine. Still not as heavy or cumbersome as a scrap rack which I have lots of. I use the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet protectors which are much less expensive and easier to get than the 12 x 12 and the paper with the stamps/die cuts/ribbons/tape, embellishments, inks, etc does not have to be acid free, and the sheet protectors make it much easier to turn pages and not have to worry about them getting worn. I can just add pages when I purchase new items, and it stays near my computer so I can quickly check out if I already have an item when I am purchasing on-line. I started this many years ago when I discovered I had purchased 5 sets of the same autumn stamp set - which I REALLY liked! (I called the company and they allowed me to return 4 - the lady I spoke with said they'd noticed that I'd bought 5, but thought I was getting them for others!) Each photo of the item on the page has the company name, date purchased, and cost in addition to where it's stored - I have the key to that inside the front cover of the binder. I use lots of Tiffany's storage products. I try to keep the pages into themes (wildlife, beach, road trip, masculine) and also sort of have seasonal sections - Spring next to Summer, then Fall and Winter. I have tabs to label the sections but recently I have color-coded the edges of some of the sheets inside the protectors (and the tabs) with the wide edge of my spectrum noirs - about 1/4 inch wide, just enough to show from the side of the catalog. This way I can keep some items by Company, but still find the themes within the company section. Dark Red for Christmas Holiday, Teal for my very large peacock section, Light Blue for beach stuff, Dark Blue for patriotic, Light Red for Valentines, hearts & wedding section, Pink for baby, Brown for wildlife, Green for trees and florals, Dark Gray for masculine. (I also keep a color coded sample with the pen # so I can easily duplicate the colors.) Hope these suggestions help you as much as your video helped me; I have subscribed so I can learn more from you.

Hi Diana … thanks for sharing. It is really hard to keep track of things and not buy duplicates when you accumulate things over the years. Your catalog sounds amazing!!! I'm a little concerned about how heavy using binders would be because I have problems with my hands. That's one of the reasons that I do a lot of flip storage because I can get to things without having to do any lifting. So, I do like the idea of using binders and I thought about using a smaller binder like a 6x8 but then the pages are so small. I might try using 8.5x11 binder to organize my dies or stamps and see how it works for me. I also use the themes and seasons but I also sometimes store things by manufacturer and collection … so, I love the idea of using color on the edge of the pages to help you with finding things. Thanks for subscribing to my channel and for sharing how you created your catalog!!!

Hi I liked your video can you share what printer you use?
@YesPleasePapercrafts

Hi Janell ... I have two printers (both Canon) ... the Canon MX922 and the Canon TS9521C. The Canon MX922 is an older printer and it has been discontinued. The Canon TS9521C (which prints 12x12 paper) is backordered and has not been available for a long time (but it is still being manufactured). Hope that helps. Karen

Do you have other ideas for ribbon storage in very small space ?
@YesPleasePapercrafts
@YesPleasePapercrafts 2 ай бұрын
Sorry I missed your question and I'm so late with answering. I just found out that I could filter all of the youtube comments and just see the comments with questions. I have a video on storing ribbon using hang tabs. I have it hanging in up in my closet. It works really well and saves a lot of space, if you take the ribbon off the spools and put it on hang tags or wind it around a card. If you have a large amount of ribbon on a spool > 3 yards, I would recommend keeping that on the spool because it gets really hard to manage otherwise. Check out these videos on my channel. What kind of printer and software are you using? The colors are so exact. I’ve been taking pictures of the covers, but when I print the colors are not true. Thanks!

Hi Charlene .... I love Canon printers and all of my printers are Canon. I have the Canon MX922 Multi-Purpose Printer (which I think is now discontinued), the Canon TS9521C Craft Printer (large format printer) and the Canon Selphy Photo Printer. I printed pages for my reference guides using both the MX922 and TS9521C printers just using plain printer paper. I also set the print quality to high in the printer settings before printing, so you may want to check your printer settings to make sure you are printing in high quality mode. You may also look at Color Adjustment settings for your printer where you can change the brightness and intensity of the colors. Hope this helps. Karen

Hi Charlene ... I was just thinking about something else that could be causing the colors in your pictures to be off and that is either the lighting in your room or your camera/phone that you are using to take the pictures. I didn't take pictures of most of the paper pads, I download images from the internet. I only took pictures of the paper pads when I couldn't find an image on the internet. If you would like some helping downloading images, check out this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJekoJmBr7aUppI And, here's another video that gives some information on printing the images. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrVlYCgj8Sra8k Hope this helps. Hi Hazzle .. I do have a lot of punches and I have them stored in a couple of different places in my craft room. I am planning to do a video on storing and organizing punches soon. But until I do, you may want to watch Lauren Hinds at Craft Some Joy because I loved her video and I'm planning to do some of the same things she's doing.
