Really?!? Wow ! I mean if you think about it..ONP never made the same beats, that's why I like Society of soul, it was jazz mixed with spoken word mixed with funk !

Most def. I was so happy when I hunted down a copy of Sleepy's Theme (and that's because it was rare back then). I still remember seeing the video for "Pushin'" by Society of Soul as a lil' kid and loving it. And always looked forward to Big Rube's poetry on all of the Dungeon Family members' projects. Organized Noize are respected but not as much as they should be, in my opinion.

If you really want to hear organized noize, you have to listen to the Backbone, Cool Breeze, Goodie Mob and Witchdoctor albums. Some of their hardest beats, and some of the best in hip hop ever, are on those albums. Much luv to these guys.

I feel sorry for these ignorant kids that think this era of music is better than the past. The 90s was the peak of hip hop.
@juniorxeastny81697 жыл бұрын
absolutely. To me, Outkast, The Roots, Mos Def & Talib Kweli and Common and the few other artists associated with them, were the last dying breaths of real authentic hip hop. By 2004 I swear I walked away from hip hop and started listening to world music (african, middle eastern, euro techno).

+djvlad dude I've been saying this for over 20 years, Outkast had some vibe from Souls of Mischief, even look at Andre 3000's movements in the video Player's Ball, exactly and mirror the dude from Souls of Mischief...but they were 16 when they jumped off the porch and 17 when they blew up so it was all good, plus they morphed into the most musically and culturally impactful hip hop act of all times...Facts! And A3k is the GOAT for anybody that wants to go toe to toe on that.
@christianraines30326 жыл бұрын
Not even close. Andre was being himself. I dont c any similarities in his movement at all. Which video r u describing because the ones ive seen aren't even close.
@lazaroclarkeii89944 жыл бұрын
Christian Raines-3 Stacks would tell you himself that he was Mos Def influenced by Souls of Mischief!!! In an interview not long ago with Eminem, where Em was supposed to respond to a diss on social media, he instead gets on a chat with Andre 3000 and what did they talk about? How dope the verses were on Souls of Mischief's song "Never No More" from 93 till Infinity!!! And Hieroglyphics member Tajai said in a follow up that both Em and Andre 3000 have always respected what Souls of Mischief and the Heiro crew do!!!! That confirms that Andre 3000 was definitely influenced by Souls of Mischief, if nothing else from a lyrical perspective!!!! I'll post the link to that article on here or you can Google it"Eminem and Andre 3000 discuss Souls of Mischief song "Never No More"
@bigdap1004 жыл бұрын
Lazaro Clarke II it’s cool because for us we’re not criticizing we’re actually admiring how all that we loved about hip hop came to be, the style and flavors were born out of other styles and flavors and when we see it and identify it we embrace it b/c it’s fascinating.

The Source gave Outkast first album 4.5 mics, Goodie Mob 4 mics and Dr. Dre...The Chronic 4.5 mics. After those wack ratings I slowed up buying that magazine, because I realized they couldn't get past their northern biases. I've seen less albums get 5 mics, but the artists were from New York. XXL came and I started supporting it.
