IDEA FOR PACKING LIST: Redo your packing list with check boxes and numbers, then print several and place them where you kept your original list. Check off items as you pack. This makes packing easier for those of us who can reference a list and still manage to overlook items on the list.

I also make a list but as I pack I highlight the items. tuck the list in my bag and mark the items as I'm packing to go home. that way I don't forget anything.

Because I/my family travel frequent, I leave my toiletry and makeup bags packed in my carry-on. When I/we come home I restock it. I also buy extra things, ie hair brush, to keep in there so I won't forget to pack it.

We store them in our storage area in the bonus room in organized containers. I showed it in my Christmas decor video for my Deck the Halls on a Dime series.

You look great Katherine. Thank you for the video. I use Evernote for my packing lists (cruising or camping or air travel etc). I use zip bags; snack/sandwich/ or gallon bags for my son's meds (ear and eye drops etc) jewelry, folded clothes etc . As I pack I use my netbook to list items in suitcase to help w inventory and locating items. Safe travels!

Hi, I have found that going on trips has been so frustrating for both my husband as well as myself for so long. Overtaking items we just don't need, your standard list is wonderful, love that idea, also tour idea for jewelry is safe as well as compact, a hanging roll down bag saves so much room and aggravation, thank you so much for this video! Love your videos. I couldn't pack without my ready to go kits from toiletries to electronics to office supplies & swim stuff if I pack it regularly I've bought a duplicate of it & put it in to a kit. I also love having a go to bag that's used as my personal bag on the plane. It's about 98% packed all the time because I leave the things that go in there in it including a wallet. The exceptions are my phone, kindle & ipod & wallet items such as id, cards & cash.

I was amazed since this is the first time I've seen this video...but I absolutely have/use practically the same identical lists you use when traveling - one for packing and one for making sure I don't forget the long of list of stuff you need to do before leaving. Well done video. I always keep the suitcase to be packed on the dresser so that it's on a hard surface, at appropriate height. It's important to use those compression straps inside your case to reduce wrinkling. With airport security rifling through carry-on, it's helpful to pack panties & bras in drawstring or mesh bags. double check rules for shampoo, lotions, liquid as they change frequently.

I get this question a lot! It's more for longer trips, but it's so I don't get that nasty ring in the toilet bowl where the water line is! Less cleaning, hehe. :)

OMG! Thank you so much. I hate hate hate packing (so much so that it deserves 3 hates!) to go on a trip. It takes forever and I always have to pack for my husband. Guess who gets into trouble if I forget anything? I always forget things! I have copies of your lists and I am going to put them in the sheet protectors and mark out completed stuff with a dry erase. Wondering why on Before Leaving list, you have "toilet seats up?" For Feng Shui, it is best to keep lids down, and bathroom doors closed. I could not find your Before Leaving list to download. Thank you, I love your videos!

Here's a tip if you just do an overnight trip, save an old make up powder jar and it's the best place to put your jewelry in. I started doing this for my hearing aids when I was in college.

Hope your trip was great!! :) We have lists that we used to print off before each trip, set up much like yours. We recently switched to putting all our lists on Cozi (app) on our iPhones. This way, we can change the list as needed and have multiple lists and never print :D We just check off as we go for each category :) It is working GREAT for us. We also use it for our shopping list since it is so easy & we never forget our list because it is on our phone :D God Bless, Shannon

How does leaving the seat up effect the water level resulting in a ring or not? Specifically? I just dont see how it would make a difference and would like to know if there's something I dont understand about the way a toilet works.
