My problem is that if I stop to rest….I’m not gonna get back up and finish. Once I have the energy I have to keep going until bed or nothing else will get done.

Me to. I am either all in or all out. There is no in between. I am trying to train my self out of this by doing the pomodoro technique, which is where you set timer for 25 to 30 minutes and only do work and nothing else during that time and then when the timer runs out, you take a brief five to ten minute break before starting another pomodoro. It's a technique to teach self discipline.

Great ideas! I'm retired so only have 'home' stuff to deal with, and use an A5 with a horizontal week on one page facing a page of notes. In the back I keep my master 'to do' list, and each week transfer one major task from that list to the weekly note page, along with other smaller things I know need to be done that week. Then I work from the weekly page, allocating tasks to days as they come up. I also have a Personal size EDC which gets matched to the week-on-one-page. As long as I can tick off three or four things a day (man I love my tick-boxes!) I am happy. My brain can't cope with colour-coding or decor other than the occasional bit of highlighter, but this works for me! I love watching planner videos and seeing other people's ideas.

THANK YOU Alaina for explaining the A-B-C planning system in this video! There was an app I'd downloaded earlier this year (I don't remember what it was called though) and I was so confused by how to use them. It's so simple though! I'm kind of kicking myself now lol. I also like the idea of writing down my tasks/accomplishments as the day goes on; sometimes I can have days where I feel like I didn't accomplish much, but then I realize that I actually did. Thanks so much for another excellent video! Can't wait for Friday's (fun fact: I'm a HORRIBLE procrastinator which is why I got involved in planning last year to help overcome that habit!).

I love your videos! I have to have everything in the same place. My brain sort of implodes if I try to keep multiple places for my to-dos. I love the idea of color-coding them though. I'm definitely adding that to my planning. I am also way too optimistic about what I can get done, so I use a weekly planner page and plug in my weekly to-dos by time blocks. It usually becomes fairly obvious if I have overscheduled or am being unrealistic.

Yup, basically the method designed decades ago by Franklin Covey! There's a reason it's been around as long as it has, despite many other time management trends...even bullet journal system is a tweak on the prioritized tasks list of FC. One life, one planner (excepting those who are required by their employers to have a distinct work planner etc)...have it all in front of you and skip having to jump between umpteen diff planners....it's not only time-saving but far more cost effective when you consider how pricey some planners are!

Your planner is nice, pretty, with a lot of thought and obviously works for you, but way to many 'sections' for me. Having to go to other sections is overly complicated. All the flipping back and forth; not necessary. A weekly calendar with everything for a simple planner, is just right. All the time wasted on the planners is time that could have been spent in other activities.
