I love this video but I wanted to point out that the best before date doesn't mean you need to throw it out afterwards. It's "best before" not "deadly after". Look at it, smell it, taste it, and if it's fine, yiu can mostly eat it (especially when frozen or stuff with a high sugar content)

I'm having a similar 'February is the new January' experience - I also didn't put pressure on myself and I think it's paying off :)

Pro bed-making tip: When putting on the bottom - fitted - sheet, start with opposite corners. This technique stretches the sheet out and makes it easier to gets the sheet smooth and wrinkle-free.

One thing that helps me keep learning is that we formed a book club at work, to read books related to engineering. We read a couple chapters at a time and discuss them biweekly. It’s led to some really great conversations, and I get to learn both from the book and my colleagues. I think you mentioned you read books with your family? I think that’s so great, I would love to do something similar with my sisters.

I just wish you’d put out a new video everyday 😅 you’re definitely my comfort content creater! Maybe you need something (plant) more drape-y for the shelves? From the first to the second or on the second one draping down? 🤗

I love learning new things! Every month I learn one new thing and do one new thing. Last month I did Veganuary and made a lot of new vegan recipes, and I learned all about teas by reading, watching KZbin videos and trying a new tea every day. This month I am doing junk journaling and learning how to hand letter. Next month is a deep dive into mushrooms…trying to grow and reading books (Entagled Life) and a documentary Fantastic Fungi.

Agree with TrueFriendsAreAGift check your library for cool stuff, Vancouver's Public Library also has lots of interesting offerings in multiple categories and sends out a newsletter so I don't even have to search for events. The best organizing thing I started doing was to write on the jars, bags, etc what the expiry date was. Now when I look into the fridge/freezer, I can easily see when something expires - without having to struggle with the tiny print, or the random locations the manufacture uses for the expiry date. It is a small kitchen so the utility drawer is right beside the fridge/freezer, and that is where the marker lives.

I incorporate non fiction reading as part of my morning routine. Dishwasher empty, big glass of lemon water, drink a protein shake then read for 30 mins then workout. Sounds like a huge faff but honestly the best way to start a day. Also added in a cold plunge so currently reading Wim Hoff

I've been doing a soft launch of the year, as well, and I think it's actually a more effective way to build sustanable good habits. SLow and steady and all that.

I keep learning outside of school by listening to audiobooks. Every year I listen to a few non-fiction audiobooks on topics that I’m interested in on my commute to work and I deliberately choose books which spark that love for learning (eg biology, astronomy). It’s a lot of fun!

I love reading, but I only read one book every few months because I have so many other things that fill my time like working out, cooking, and going to work. I know those are also priorities for you, so how do you balance the time that you read with these tasks?

I've spent January easing in as well with recovering from the holidays and getting back into routine, I'm glad it's not just me. I need to do a deep clean of my fridge and freezer too.

I bought a copy of the Myth of Normal and I'm excited to read it! The last non-fiction book that I just finished was Feeling Seen by Dr. Jody Carrington (psychologist) and it put a lot of the 'pieces of the puzzle' together for me. Having been following her online for a few years I like how she's so down to earth (with some swear words mixed in there and there) and this last book of hers really can apply to anyone (compared to her previous book relating to kids and to teachers). Great read so I thought I would share for anyone looking for an all around mental health wellbeing book.

I’m watching this a month late…obviously, but when you started singing the “Blended” song I started laughing. YES, I know it…EVERY time it’s on tv my husband has to watch it! Trust me, it’s on tv a LOT!!! Great movie, but not times 30!! Lol 😅 Happy belated birthday…my son’s is the 3rd and my brother’s is the 9th…typical Aquarius men.

This was my favorite book talk so far! I listened to Hubermans pod with Dr G and also drew connections between Maté and Dr G’s approach to medicine! I love that too about non-fiction books! They all seem to work together synergistically.

I love to keep learning by looking for courses either at the local library or online platforms. For example the KhanAcademy had a really nice course about Storytelling by the artists from Pixar! Other than that I mostly read non-fiction or listen to podcasts like Deep Dive from Ali Abdaal :)

Someone talk to me about the frozen diced onion. This excites me. Dumb question- do you just throw it in the dish from frozen? And is it still very onion-y… I mean it’s not lost it’s ‘strength’ as an onion 🧅 🤭🫣🤔
