Yup, my thought too! Right now for the Fall season, Dollar Tree has brown, beige and black baskets with lids, cuz sometimes you need that lid! ;)

Keeping my car clean has proved to be very difficult since I started living in my car a few months ago! Backpacks and baskets have been best for keeping things organized. I have a school backpack, gym bag, camera bag, clothes bag. Then I have a basket for books and a basket for food/utensils in my trunk. Everything else fits in my glove box, door pockets, and arm rest. If I don't stay on top of it, my car will be a complete mess within a day. I try to re-organize and vacuum everything once a week.

yes baskets are your friends. also keep a storage if you can afford one. it helps out alot. winter stuff and summer stuff. it helps keep things in order

I wouldn't have any extra storage unless it was a hardtop that fits on the top of my car. I wouldn't want to be tied down to the location of a storage facility. I bet it would help keep things organized and in one place though.

I go to self-wash car washes to vacuum it out. There's usually nobody there. If there is someone, they're usually too busy cleaning their own dirty car to notice that I'm living in mine.

You should do a video on how living in your car affects your family relationships. Like how you go about going home for holidays or missing peoples birthdays etc. That’s one thing I have found a little bit difficult since I started living in my van. Love your content!

I just skimmed thru your comments, and I saw several suggestions for draping a backpack over your passenger seat (Which is what I was going to suggest), but 2 other ways to expand your storage capacity would be to buy roof carrier or a hitch rack. The roof carriers often require a standard roof rack (my car didn't have one so I just went to home depot and built my own roof carrier), and the hitch rack, obviously requires a hitch. I had a lightweight hitch put my little chevy aveo for $250, and you can buy a rack at Wal-Mart or harbor freight for $150.

You should get a box of XL freezer ziplock bags. They really help me organize and keep food fresh! Ear buds ⏩ medium ziplock bag Glasses ⏩ medium ziplock bag Nail polish remover ⏩ med ziplock Then put them all in a big bag!

cool video. you should drape a couple of back packs over the back of your driver side and passenger side seat. would give you more storage. also maybe buy a couple of baskets for your passanger side floor well. would work better then plastic bags. great video. but what would I know. Everyone has their own system of storage, organizing , and cleaning. Seen some good suggestions on extra storage, but if it works for you do your way. What's chaos to the fly is normal to the spider. You could get small storage baskets or something to put on the floor to keep things more organized. Have one for all your food and another for misc. things like glasses you shampoo and what not. And easily removable.

Have you tried getting one of those over door storage pocket things, might work well on the back of your driver seat, loop it over the head rest and you can swing it round at night like your tissue holder, glasses, headphones etc x

Eyeglass cases are great! If you have extra (or you can get them at the dollar store) you can store ear buds in them, pens and pencils, jewelery, change, chargers and phone/computer accessories, cotton pads for make up removal, q-tips, packets of ketchup/hot sauce/salt pepper from fast food places. Plastic forks knives. It's endless. I get my glasses online and end up with extra cases. You can get the little make up bags at the dollar store too... I have tons from Ipsy and they come in hands for stuff too!

You could get those little set of acrylic drawers and put them in your trunk for storage and then get a few bags to drop over your passenger and driver seat to put some stuff in and then get totes to slide in the back seats on the floor that would give you a whole lot of space and storage

Maybe get a little plastic box or recyclable bag for your food since most of it is bagged items. Then for any papers one of those thin folders for any papers that could go under your seat or in the side pockets. You use your chargers alot so those are kinda a silly point to organize or find something to put away :) perhaps folded blanket with pillows in trunk or on one side of the back seat with your suitcase on the other or both on one side. Makeup case actually could go on one side. Your window shield could just sit in the dash across from passenger. Perhaps a small bag that would fit your glasses and randoms? Just trying to help because I organize all the time I live in a small space so I also have to organize alot

Maybe try one of those plastic shoe organizers that you can hang up in a house (perhaps hang it on the passenger seat) and you can fill each of the little pockets with stuff you use throughout the day (glasses in one row, easy to reach snacks in another row, misc stuff (i.e. nail polish remover, wipes, etc.) in another row?

Hi Katie!....Maybe get a new drawer set that has 4 drawers for more space in the back. Then you can use it for the random stuff that sits on top of your drawers and then get a few small tote baskets for the front seat passenger side floor!

Maybe a shower caddy for your front seat on the floor. And if you use all those cords everyday you can use little ties that might keep them a little organized. Also try a seat organizer you can get them from truck stops anywhere really. Hope that helps

Hey Katie!! I'm excited to say that I am starting this journey within the next couple of days!!! 😆😆😁 I was just waiting for my lease to end! I've been incredibly miserable & always feeling like I am constantly barely making ends meet or feeling like I'm just keeping up with the Jones'. This is honestly something I've ALWAYS wanted to do and I even did it for a few weeks when I had to take a course at a college an hour away. You can get cheap fabric or plastic containers at the dollar tree to help with organization or even the multiple drawer organizers at Walmart would actually work. You could fit possibly 2 to 3 in the trunk which should store most of your things.

have you seen the shoe bags that hang on a door? They have many compartments or pockets.and the best part they and be folded or rolled up to save space (I use for when we go camping to keep toileries in etc., perfect for keeping papers,books, toys, knick knacks etc to help keep the little stuff in there own place. they come in many sizes and walmart and amazonsell them cheap. also would help keep your glasses haors stuff nail polish remover in.

If I remember correctly you have a Yaris? Not a lot of room, but it is fairly well organized. When I was a surveyor, some forty years ago, my full size Jimmy had a cabinet that had been custom built just for the available area. It kept all our equipment organized and available when needed, much like your system. Some overhead netting, like the stuff sold for sailing ships is really useful for soft stuff like clothing. Just an idea, works in the confines of a ship.

Suggestion for storing stuff: those shoe holder things that go on doors, you could put stuff in there and either hang it on the back of your seats or fold it down so you can lift it up to look for what you need but it just be on the floor and more out of the way (unless there’s passengers in the back I guess?) idk I just thought of that

You should put your headphones in old tins from mints or gum or even old pull bottles. It keeps them from getting tangled and makes them much easier to see and grab. Really helped me to stop losing and breaking headphones.

I strongly recommend getting 1 or 2 photo storage boxes for all the little things. I have two. One for all my hair and makeup products. The other is for my little items. The boxes I purchased are black since I want it to look clean and match my black leather interior. Let me know if that works! Trust me. YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!!

You should get organizers that attach onto the back of car seats that can store tons of stuff! They attach to the back of the front seats and can be accessed from the back seat. I used to have one for my dogs stuff. I got mine at Ross and have seen them at TJ Maxx and Amazon too :)

They sell a short organizer for front of passenger seat so you can organize glasses tissues tablet note pads pen ect. It hangs high enough you can still toss a purse or back pack eft on seat while organizing smaller items above. It can swing to the back side if you have a passenger and you don't have to empty it to do so

you should get a shower caddy to put on the floor on the passenger side for some go to items, like those glasses. for the backseat, they sell pocket organizers that go on the back of the front seats (they look like shoe organizers that go on doors)

Suggestion: Put rubber bands on your passenger side sun visor, and hook the sunglass arm to them. Hang your glasses case too. Also, $0.84 Walmart plastic bins are fantastic for storing things and can be easily labeled for whatever you need!! I love all your videos!
