Hal!! So glad you got your bookshelves. I immediately clicked the video once I seen it. I think the bookshelves don’t look cohesive when you step back because you don’t have decor yet. That’s what happened to me. Once you start adding stuff they will look better so trust your process❤❤❤❤

I love used books along with new books lol. And I can say I don’t mind the embossing I think it’s cool to see where they’ve came from I bought some from thrift books and one came from half priced books and then I got a old copy that was signed by the author and then another one was a library edition

To help you decide whether you put the manga on the bottom or top of the bookshelves - this is totally based on the lighting in the room but the manga should be kept out of direct sunlight as it can yellow the pages.

Hello! I loved the bookshelves and your collection. I would make a small change to your organization: I think it looks very similar to the style: Books vertically, books horizontally and books vertically... This pattern was repeated on several shelves. I would try to make something symmetrical using the three shelves and try not to repeat a pattern. Example: On the left bookshelf, on a certain shelf, I would leave a series of books horizontally and some books vertically. On the center shelf, I could create a new pattern... Books vertically and in the center of it, some books facing forward showing the cover. On the right shelf, I would do the opposite of the first shelf... I would leave the books vertically and then books horizontally. You can create several patterns: Books with dark covers on the side shelves and white covers in the center... Make a symmetrical rainbow with standalone books. I would create a mirrored pattern to create something symmetrical. I'm not a big fan of decorating bookshelves, but I think that a little something here and there is nice and helps to break up the clutter of books.
