The kindle arm holder is super useful, not only to read in bed while being cozy under the blankets, but also if you have issues in the hands too. I got one because my hands get numb and crampy after holding it for a while and it has helped me immensely. I even use it for my phone.

I got a book nook kit for Christmas, and I'm very excited to build it! It's a tiny bookshop, and I love that it has a little light to go in it too. My only issue is that my bookshelves are currently overfilled as it is, and we don't have space for more right now, so finding a spot to put it is going to be a bigger challenge than assembling it.

I got a kindle holder and page turner as a gift and it's a game changer. Imagine laying in bed snug under covers in a cold room and not having to move except to push the little remote. I've woken up with the clicker still in my hand 😅.

A book light I like is one you wear around your neck, so there is a spotlight at each end. This way you can use it for more than just reading. I use it while I write, too.

I love to knit or crochet while I am reading. So page holders, different to the ones you showed, and ereader holders are terrific for me. I would use the one you showed for a cookbook. I sent a link of the library kit to my adult daughter because she kind of does this with her personal library, anyway. For me I was a touch of nostalgia because that was how we had to borrow books when I was a kid.

The book holders can be great if you are researching and copying something form a book and it can hold the book open while you are reading and typing. I also am autistic, and like to stem while I’m reading so I like to have a book held open so I can stem with my hands. This is also great for the kindle holder. It allows the book to float in the air and I can stem and also lay/sit in various positions and place the book where it works best for me.

I have the Nessie bookmark and it's so cute! Does slide out of the book a bit easily, but for the cuteness it's gold. I also have the clip on gooseneck light and I use it every night to read. Most have multiple light settings and brightness levels. I've also traveled with it (plane, hotel) and it doubles as a flashlight for your bag. I'm gifting one this year. Good gift idea! I'd also suggest a book/kindle sleeve. If your reader is outside at all, or shoves their book in a bag, it's great protection from scuffs, dirt, weather, etc. Etsy has a lot of options.

If you loan books the thing with the ink stamp might get your book back to you in a timely manner. But I doubt it. I quit loaning books. They disappear.

I use a page holder almost every day because I knit while I am reading. It is also useful if you are in the habit of reading during meals. (I also have a foldable prop to hold the book upright.)

I used to commute to work. One-way was over an hour. Audiobooks saved my sanity. Now that I’m retired, and going deaf, I have Bluetooth hearing aids that puts the story directly into my ears. This allows me to do any chore around the house that needs getting done. As far as book holders…Kindle holders, I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and my floor stand allows me to read sitting up, reclining in a comfy chair, or flat on my back in bed when I was recuperating from surgery. Finally, I am American and I think the Nessie bookmark was the best thing you showed us. Who doesn’t love Nessie?

The library kit is kind of cool. That is how you used to check out library books many years ago. The librarian would stamp the due date on the card to keep on file for who checked the book out, and when it was returned the card would be returned.

I love bookgifts that seem to come from the universe of the book. I have the Burglar Contract of Bilbo Baggins from Weta Workshops, it's beautiful. And The One Ring on its chain of course. I want the stamps "from" Ankh-Morpork's Post Office or coins as those described in the Mistborn books or an Aes Sedai Serpent ring. Little momentos that reminds me of some favourites. ❤

9:40 ohhh, that’s a perfect gift for my mom! She reads in bed, and most times she falls asleep, thats why she switched from physical books to a kindle (kindle doesn’t hurt so much plus she doesn’t lose the page she was on). With that thing, she can fall asleep and nothing falls on her. Thank you!

I have a personalised embosser and I love it. I would recommend buying stickers to emboss first (I have 2 inch round gold ones) because its easier to see the embossed pattern on the sticker than it is on the paper.

Lots of the holder things are definitely useful if you have issues with hands - tennis elbow, stroke and arthritis etc. I have stroke issues and RSI so holding a book for any length of time gives me a crampy hand - I have yet to find a book cushion with the right angle so I have a kind of box with a cushion on the bottom with a slop you can have at different angles with built in page holders. I might invest in that Kindle arm though... thanks

My favorite bookish gifts have been tote bags, bookmarks, book sleeves, gift card to a bookstore. On my wishlist for bookish things I would put coasters, a book stamp, book sleeves, and probably gift cards to bookstores. Oh and if I get to wish bigger it would be for another bookshelf(I of course already have a spot in mind for it).

I have a booklight that goes around your neck. It’s nice for reading in bed. Sloth page holder would be helpful for reference books you are staying on one page for awhile like a cookbook. The thumb holder would be helpful for hand comfort. I was gifted a book book kit a year ago. If I was into building it I would’ve listened to audiobooks while building it. My husband decided to go ahead and build it for me just a few days ago. I’m thrilled with that because as much as I love the idea of a booknook on my shelf I’m not interested in building it myself. I feel like someone that likes to do puzzles, legos, building models etc would be the perfect person to gift it. That person also probably wouldn’t have small children too since it’s a project that takes quite awhile and you wouldn’t be able to leave it out to work on without loosing pieces to little hands.

Why don’t books just have the words further out from the middle joint. I feel like it would be so much easier to read and you wouldn’t have to force the book the be completely flat. Idk if that makes sense.

I use my old pregnancy pillow sort of wrapped around myself and on my lap to hold those massive Berserk deluxe editions. It protects my legs, the book and supports my wrists. definitely will never read a big book with out a nice thick pillow.

The lights, I have a smaller rechargeable and has a flexible 'neck' and it works perfectly to read in places like the bus or the bed and your partner is sleeping, as it's small I bring it around in a small case with my post its and pens to annotate. The page holder seems perfect for when you need to use both your hands or the book is too heavy and your hand gets tired, I like crocheting and I have plenty of hardcovers, sometimes I just want to read without holding the book. Also, the holder for phone or ipad, I've seen it use in winter when you don't want to have your arms outside the blankets 😅. Other gift ideas... If you know a reader that studies with books or likes to analyse the readings, like in a book club, post its are excelent gifts, specially the transparent ones, I like to annotate without leaving permanent marks. And one of my fav is my Ex Libris stamp, is a cheaper option to a emboser. And bookish stickers are always welcome.

My thumb page holder was really useful when I read A Storm of Swords as a mmpb. Small book, with a lot of pages, that doesn't naturally spread well if you're only using one hand. Hardcovers and larger paperbacks don't have the same issues. (I use a bookstand for heavier large books.)

As much as I love my bookmarks, having cats around means that anything more attention-grabbing than a piece of paper/cardboard will be in danger. So maybe keep in mind that a cat owner may not use a fancy bookmark! But you can commission an artist for a really customized bookmark. For example, there are a lot of Harry Potter bookmarks out there, but what about one with the house, wand and patrons? It'll probably be one of a kind. I'm currently working on some astrology bookmarks (sun, rising sign, moon and eastern sign)which are driving me crazy but are turning out just perfect.

Page holders are great. It hurts my hands at a point, and it's hard to eat and hold a book. I have a stand that has clips on both sides. So I don't have to hold it at all. I highly recommend. Also recommend magnetic bookmarks.

I bought myself an off brand lego book nook that's like a little spell shop. it is very detailed came with lights and you can have it open or closed and it was 30 bucks on amazon. I had the best time for a couple of nights between christmas and new years listening to an audiobook and building my little spell book shop 🥰🥰🥰 *edit to say the exterior of the nook is designed to look like a book, it's so cute. Also I think "lego" was the way to go since a lot of the other DIYs need to be painted or stained and I've gotten slivers from other craft kits using that same type of wood. Just something to consider.

I have the clip-on reading lamp with the metal clamp and I do find the clip to be a little too tight. I get nervous pulling it off the pages because it always feels like it would rip the paper 😬 the plastic clip one might be good to try. Additionally, a mini speaker might be a good gift for someone who enjoys audio books! I have one small enough to fit in the palm of my hand that I can bring for travel 😊

You know, I seldom use any of these "bookish" type of products. The best "reading accessories" that I use are things that aren't directly related to reading, but, instead, to the area in which I am doing the reading. Examples include a relaxing scented candle, some noise blocking ear plugs or earbuds, and a mug that keeps my tea warm for a long time. I have a waterproof e-reader, so that enables me to extend my reading habit to places like the bath, the hot tub, the kayak, the pool, or the beach. Good gifts for readers who are also water babies might include anything to help the device to float and/or to clip to the reader. Other good gifts are sun hats, beach umbrellas, sunscreen, etc. If your reader is an outdoorsy type, never underestimate the power of a good hammock or a comfy camp chair. Finally, a nice pair of earbuds, when paired with an audiobook, can turn chore time into hands-free reading time. I read anywhere and everywhere, so anything that lets me make my reading environment more peaceful or comfortable is a win for me! I'm going to go out on a limb and say that an e-reader is my favorite "bookish" product. If you really want to spoil your favorite reader, you can never go wrong with an upgraded e-reader. I have poor eyesight, so having the ability to crank the font up to cartoonish levels is actually really helpful. The e-ink display is less taxing to the eyes than a traditional display, so I can read for much longer on an e-reader than I can on another device. I love the waterproof quality of the e-reader and I love that I no longer take up a bunch of suitcase or purse space with books when I travel. My bags are much lighter and I don't have to face the agonizing decision of choosing which books to bring!

I've got one of the holders but where the one you have clamps mine sits on the floor. It's huge when you get it assembled. The floor plate weighs 11 pounds. I thought I would use it with my tablet to watch movies but only used it a couple times. I waste so much money on Amazon 😂

Those are just dust jackets for the Stormlight Archive series. They're created to have connecting spines as the originals don't. If you go to 15:25 time stamp, you'll see that Andrew takes off the dust jacket you like to show the original art of The Way of Kings, talking about how you can get prints from book covers.

The thing about the page holders that I don’t understand is how do you turn the page while you use it? Especially with the sloth thing I feel like you would have to remove sloth to turn it or you might rip or bend the page.
