Or even paint them with cheap acrylic paint. We have a some that we bought for kids' toys yrs ago & the fabric has disintegrated (the brightly coloured awful 'fabric' they use for grocery bags), leaving the cardboard structure all bare. I wish I'd painted over the fabric years ago & they'd still be intact; now I don't even have a template/pattern & have to use my brain LOL.

Hello Bianca. I loved this video. I completely relate to the Apothecary thing from yesteryear. My grandparents were Pharmacists and had their own Pharmacy from the mid '20's to the mid 80's. As a child I explored the attic finding all these strange concoctions, among them an amber bottle labelled "powder from the great beast's fingernails" My brother and I couldn't get over that one. When we asked my grandmother she laughed it off saying. "That's what people asked for back in the days" My brother and I developed a real interest in finding "dusty old treasures" in my grandparents home and business. Alas, it's all turned to dust!

When I saw the thumbnail, I smiled and thought, "Yay!!!!" I love a sewing room organization video! (now if only I would get off my lazy bum and organize my own.) What I especially liked about this video was how you crafted your aesthetic. It isn't my aesthetic, but the amount of thought and dedication you put into making a room that you spend so much time in feel like your personal space is wonderful. If your work space is happier, you are more happy when working. Great Job!!

Oh, and for your plant, I recommend watering thoroughly only once a week (I would do it right in that sink so the excess water drains away), and you should change that light bulb right above it to a full spectrum grow light. You can get them on Amazon (the white light ones, not the pink or blue ones). That way whenever you're working down there, it'll get great light, and those lights are bright enough for your own use as well. I have them in my own sewing room where I have tons of plants, so highly recommend 💚

I relate so hard to this video. Nicely arranged “clutter” that is both decorative and useful is my happy place. Frequently used tools need to be handy and visible, or I’ll be awful about actually putting them “away” where they belong when I’m done. Seeing the beautiful things I own, especially things I’ve made, makes me incredibly happy. I love seeing how other creative people arrange their spaces to be both functional and #aesthetic.

I use scraps like this for making matching gloves, hat bands, bags, belts, head scarf/bandanas, fabric flowers for brooches or hats or shoe clips. You can also use it to bulk up flimsier fabric when flatlining. My favorite use for fabric scraps too small is to make "coleslaw" and use it to fill stuffed animal or projects to avoid polyfill and recycle every last scrap I can.

God my craft room (a spare bedroom) was a nightmare. I followed the Marie Kondo method of putting all of the same items together, only for this room I put all of the same CRAFT together. Reason I could never find a tool in my desk drawer was because it was buried in among tools I wasn’t using. I used to do jewellery making years ago and the plastic storage drawers I had for them took up half the room, despite 3/4 of them being just air! My fabric stash is still ridiculous, and I genuinely don’t have enough space for it until I actually sew up some of the items I intend to make, so I’ve forbidden myself from buying any new fabric, with the exception of muslin. And bias tape. Oh and interfacing. And buttons. And zips…

I am going to sell the Pfaff's soon due to their weight and not using them as much as the Singer 15-91. So glad you have a 66k they are the best straight stitch machine. I find the older machines are so much more dependable and seem to be the most "user friendly". Very lil' can go wrong with the 66k that cant be fixed by the user. The electrical wiring tends to need replacing before anything else, with my own experiences.

For fabric that I have that's not big enough to do anything with, I cut it up into really small pieces and slowly add it to some sort of bin until there's enough to make a pet bed to donate to the shelter. It's my way of trying to recycle scraps so I don't feel as bad about my offcuts. The shelters around me are okay with donations like that as long as it can be washed and that it's not filled with foam or anything an animal could get sick on when/if they rip it open.
