Anytime I hear this on the radio I get a little bit of hope it will spark curiosity into someones mind to explore more music from this time even before if you look for the original and around that era of music

Orgy is one of the few bands from the Nu Metal scene that really holds up in my opinion - mostly because of the strong influence they took from 80s new wave and synth pop, rather than going for the rap rock sound most of their peers were doing. The music sounds a lot less dated. Hell, they were a bit ahead of their time with the new wave revival stuff, now that i think of it - considering bands like The Killers later took that idea and ran with it. Candyass and Vapor Transmission are still usually in my phones mp3 folder. I did fall off after they kinda strayed from that synth guitar sound with the third album though. But it's really a shame they're thought of as a 'one hit wonder' (and even worse that they're considered a one hit wonder who's one hit was a cover song - their original work is great) if people remember them at all.

I’ve never even heard of them before and I was in High School and at University all through the 90s.
@TheLokiBiz3 жыл бұрын
@@negativeindustrial It was more late 90s, early 2000s. If you were into the nu-metal scene of the time - especially bands like Korn, Linkin Park etc., you for sure would have heard them back then. They were on the "Family Values" tour Korn put on in 1999 or something like that, which is when I rememer them breaking through.
@erickmazur8073 жыл бұрын
Orgy wasnt really in that scene. Candyass was the diamond in the rough in my opinion
@TheLokiBiz3 жыл бұрын
@@erickmazur807 I consider them part of that "scene" mostly because they were part of the Family Values tour back in their heyday - That said, by that metric, Rammstein is in the scene too. There was bit bit of cross over in the nu metal and industrial rock/metal scenes at that time.
@onyxbel94843 жыл бұрын
@@TheLokiBiz Yes, I first heard / fell in love with Orgy from my Family Values ***VHS*** which I STILL own btw 😂 Also Rammstein, though was originally there for Korn & Limp Biz. Orgy was so ahead of their time, unique, first two albums full of great songs, can't understand why they flew under the radar???
