I had high hopes for Orianthi for years to record plausible original rock. Several years later, she's doing cover tunes. She' be great in a bar band. Be no means am I denouncing bar bands, there are some amazing musicians in bar bands - playing various versions of cover tunes.

She is just an amazing guitarist by any standard. Obviously, Orianthi has a genetic gift that she recognized and enhanced it with hours and hours of practice. Any one with this much talent, has inherited something special. Practice does not make perfect . . . but it makes one better. Otherwise, everyone could be world class musicians or professional athletes. We all have parameters and what we do WITHIN those parameters is primarily within our control. Read "Outliers." Unfortunately, I just am not a fan of the music that Orianthi has recorded. Wish she'd produce some retro stuff. That's my problem because I grew up with The Beatles in the 60s.
