Now that I have the strap I like squeezed on, I never think about the 17mm lugs anymore. I agree, they got so many things right that it's easy to fall in love with this piece.

I wanted to go for a solid yet affordable automatic as my first watch, so I bought this exact time piece last Saturday on a friend's recommendation and it made me fall in love with watches. The Bambino looks even more gorgeous in real life, and looks pretty great on my wrist. Love the display caseback too. Can't wait to get a few leather straps to go with.

Really liking the look of this watch. As you said; it has a remarkable resemblance to a vintage watch. That being said, I simply cannot understand why Orient makes the lugwidths awkward time after time after time. Disregarding all negative feedback once again.😅 Great vid!👍🏻

The odd sized lugs is like Orient's version of Seiko's misaligned chapter ring.

Love it, I have the steel version with blue hands, the only negative points in my opinion are the "water resistant" inscription and the 17mm lug width

Hopefully they will improve these areas if they expand on the 36mm line. I would love to see a small seconds version.

@Silver Spoon They could've made it 16mm or 18mm at least. The V1, V2, and V3, and V5 Bambinos are also offenders of this odd lug width with their 21mm lug width. Version 4 of the Bambino has a lug width of 22mm, and your guess is as good as mine as to why they went back to 21mm.

I bought the Bambino Gen 2 Version 2 as my first automatic watch, I loved it but eventually sold it because it was too big. This is the perfect way h for me, just need to choose between the rose gold and silver! Once I've got some money this will be the first one I buy!

I have one. The watch is beautiful, classy, elegant . Worth twice the price at least. 36mm is perfect . The only odd is 17mm lug. I thinking buy the orient star 38mm.

Dang man, very nice review! You have me strongly considering buying this piece. Quick question, when you compared with the skx013, how did you get the Pepsi bezel on there? Did you buy it like that or did you swap it out?

That's a good question. When I purchased the skx013 it had a black bezel. I modded it with one that I purchased on eBay. I did a video in the watch section of my channel.

It's an 18mm strap that I had to break in order to fit on this piece. I purchased it at Barton bands.

@@jgo8305 I usually wind it by hand a few times just to get it going. Unlike a non automatic watch, I do not believe there is a wind stop point. I only do a few turns then let the automatic rotor take over. 😁👍🏼

How strong does the rose-gold colour feel to you? I’ve got the classic 40mm Bambino Gen 2 V2 with Rose Gold indices (RA-AC0008S10B). Want to upgrade to this 36mm as my wrist is 6.25inches and 40mm seems a bit too big. I am choosing between gold and rose gold but not sure about the colour.

It is a Barton Band Toffee Brown Alligator Grain. It can easily be found on the Barton Band website, but keep in mind it is not a right size for this particular watch.

Love the watch but not the strap size at 17mm, would have been better at 18mm as the size is the most popular and easier to be able to change straps if you want to. 36mm is an ideal size for me and really good for a dress watch.

@Ashraf Black P there are so many nice pieces in that range. If you're looking for something similar to the Bambino but higher quality, Mido just reissued their classic Commander. Hamilton is another great brand to look at and if you don't mind homage watches, I always like Steinhart. You can check my old reviews to see some of the pieces I recommend or personally liked. Gnomon watch is a great place to find good deals. Hope this helps.👍🏻

I've never really understood why Orient just doesn't install sapphire lens across the range considering there isn't much of a price difference between a sapphire and a mineral crystal lens when a cheap $60 Chinese watch comes with sapphire crystal as standard?!

Once in a blue moon they do add Sapphire to some of their models. A few years back I reviewed an Orient agent. It was a pretty cool dress piece that came with sapphire crystal.⌚👍🏻

@@thegreatgambino well, the point is that the sapphire glass cost only $10 according to the Braithwait watch website and there isn't really any excuse for not fitting one especially as they come as standard in virtually all Chinese made watches.In my opinion, mineral glass should be relegated to ultra cheap $20 and below watches only and certainly not for watches costing over $300!
