Nice Barcelona chairs. I have one. Orient Bambino version 7, white dial with black leather strap will be my first watch as a HoloHead (my term for a watch afficionado). And I may later buy the same watch again but with the cream dial and brown leather strap! Thats right, two of the same watch. Also eying a good inexpensive hommage replica of the Cartier Tank.

You are right on about the salmon color, and the swap to brown leather, a perfect choice. Orient represents great value, not only their dress watches, but their range of divers too. One of my favorites is the Kamasu with red dial. Dependable movement, sapphire crystal and nice bracelet. Loved the peek into your studio!

They’re made in China wtf?! Why wouldn’t I just buy a San Martin Chinese watch (that makes homage and original designs) that has milled clasp, solid screw in links and AR coated sapphire crystals and rock solid bezels for half the price of Orient 🤷‍♂️. I paid $270 for my first automatic (Orient Kamasu) and it’s the biggest piece of junk. Bezel is crunchy and sticky, it isn’t ceramic, no AR coating, cheap bracelet and a flimsy clasp… well because it’s made in China 🇨🇳. Buy a San Martin and you’re getting much better quality, craftsmanship and value. This mid tier watches are subpar quality at quality watch prices. Paying ridiculous prices for a Seiko that has a mineral crystal 😂… maybe a few years ago but I know a little now. I can build a better watch than Orient with AliExpress build-a-watch kits. Do your due diligence people… it’s your money

It's so ridiculous and embarrassing that they can't manage to put on sapphire crystal on the Bambino. Chinese brands with similar or (most likely) better quality do it for less than half of the price. At least offer an option to upgrade.

I bought an Orient Kamasu as my first automatic watch based off these “watch enthusiasts” videos. The watch has stopped winding and I wanted another automatic and looked at San Martin, Cronos and Sugess homage’s and their watches are far superior. Better crystal (both have Sapphire crystal) on the San Martin, Cronos (having blue AR coating) and the Sugess being the best (clear AR coating) making the dial pop without the glare of Sapphire without a coating. The Orient was made with cheaper materials (bracelet feels cheap) and the clasp is a cheap stamped thin metal as opposed to milled polishing and the screw down end links. You can say well sure it’s a Chinese watch so it’s cheaper… well Orient’s are also made in China 🤷‍♂️. So you’re just paying the brand more money for less quality time piece. I think many “watch enthusiasts” get trapped brand exclusivity. Wanting to own something others can’t buy or afford. It still annoys me that people get duped buying replica Rolex’s but they often buy them cheap (like $3K-$6K) thinking they’re getting a deal and not understanding Rolex as a watch and just a brand they want to own and not pay the going price. Now if you’re buying a replica at replica prices (NYC) and are Ok with it idk, then more power to you. I tried buying a Rolex Submariner from AD and even offered to buy a Day Date with it (would’ve been like $30K for both) and they absolutely would NOT even think of selling to someone that wasn’t on their “cool person” list. Yes they actually have a list and depending on how much 🍑 you kiss… they might allow you to buy their watches 🤦‍♂️. To me this level of snobbery is why Rolex left a bad taste in my mouth and forever tainted them. If I was filthy rich I would pay a Jeweler to make a “NoLex” model and walk into the AD and give them the time… ya know in case they were wondering? “You guys take your lunch breaks yet? Look it’s 12:30PM on my Nolex watch”. Yes I’m being petty, but not as petty as Rolex. Great watch terrible company. Buy what you like, don’t let watch snobs tell you what you should wear. No reason you shouldn’t have a mineral crystal watch these days. Most watch models are made in China save for a few high end Seiko’s (not just a Swiss movements dropped in a Chinese made case) and real Swiss watches obviously
