That's a really nice try of Orient to bring back their skin diver. IMHO they are not there yet but close. I would have loved to see the broad arrow hands on it and I also think a lume pip in the bezel would have been great. The bracelet would anyway be the first thing that goes into the "bin" after purchase ;-) Great review. Keep 'em coming. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it! Yeah I agree. I really like these hands though, but would also like a lume pip in addition to the tapering bracelet. But at least with this bracelet you’re right, it’s coming off!

Thank you for your review. Just have ordered a black version via your link. German Amazon, however, states that the black version comes with mineral crystal, hope it's a mistake, and the watch will come with sapphire crystal.

There are many things I like, but the bulky nontapering strap and less than stellar lume makes it a no go.

I hear you! For me it’s the bracelet mostly. The lume could be better but it’s still OK. Bracelet on the other hand drives me nuts because it’s been the same for years and years on all models!

The decision to have untapered bracelet is very weird. I think even most cheap bracelets have at least 2mm of tapering.

Yeah, almost like it’s a stylistic choice or something. Or then it’s just an easy way to save money since you can take an old design and slap it on. I took a look at their sports collection and didn’t really find a tapering 20mm (or 22mm for that matter) bracelet there. It’s been my biggest pet peeve with all Orient sports watches for years. Would be about time to make a tapering bracelet for these.. thanks for your comment!
