ah yes, i would definitively feel much safer with the orient than the 18650ies.

I have never had a concern, BUT the thinking is changing slowly as the cells age..

If you are considering a LiFePo4 battery upgrade please consider checking this one out. Had it on my bench for two weeks at the time of release and I can 100% see myself installing this battery in my own powerwall finally retiring my 185650 DIY Powerwall.. LInk is affiliated and I make a commission on sale & which won't cost you anything. If you do buy PLEASE let me know! aujakiperbattery.com/product/48v-230ah-11-776kwh-lifepo4-server-rack-battery/?ref=powerwalls Using my code "Powerwalls" will save 8%!!!! ▼ Reply

Just received a reply from Orient Power regarding shipping, within Australia shipping is a flat rate of $150 no matter the quantity of battery ordered. (so 4 is the same price as one)

I was considering adding 15kw of istore (Huawei) batteries to my 5kw hybrid inverter I've been quoted 5k Australian per Huawei 5kw Battery , would this be a better option 3 of these batteries? I have 13kw of panels on my roof ? Thanks Wayne

Your balance is >100mV -- too high!! Use active balance to top balance then disconnect it and let BMS balancer take over
@HBPowerwall8 ай бұрын
NO, there is no reason a good BMS can't do the job - active balancers hide issues so the BMS can't show you there is an issue... stop believing the internet hype

If you take the two wires coming off the terminals and touch the tip of your tongue with them you can tell the state of charge. # pro tip 👩🏻🏭

Apparently that's the only way the pros do it!

Thanks for the review. My only suggestion would be that you independantly measure the delivered capacity externally rather than trusting the figures from the unit itself.

You need to top balance with an active balancer to increase AH output
@HBPowerwall8 ай бұрын
OOh active balancers suck... you'll never change my mind.. Hiding issues & just more shit attached to your battery to go wrong .

That's why I stick with the 100ah batteries. More versatile and easier to move etc for do many reasons. One does not use a spanner 🔧. Use a socket with extension

It's so good to see that from HomeBrew DIYers the industry has responded... and we now have safe battery options that are becoming accessible to those of us not willing to go to the effort you have. It's been such a fun journey and this just evolves your channel. That "I still love you" was an incredible moment... It's insane how such big moments of technology advancements in our lives can fade in time (albeit with lasting memories). At some point this will become another "Back in my day, I had to build my house battery using spare parts from old computers whilst bare footed" haha

@@HBPowerwall Looking for a way to sort batteries into the best order based on each mAh rating eg put in values 2789, 2980, 2489, 2511, 2540 ect and the program sorts/optimizes for best performance and reduce bogging down on weak/tired cell(s).... my packs have 60 cells in them 10x6...

been there done that... there are lists of reasons why you wouldn't use AGM.. That said if you have time and spare space it won't hurt and you could learn alot for a little.

@@HBPowerwall All depends on how we define hurt really. It's rated at 7000 cycles to 80% discharged. Probably knock that back to 5000-ish from full to empty. That's about 13 years at once per day. 7000 is 19 years. Old age will probably take it out before then, possibly it'd be on its last legs at 13 years old. If it's still going in 10 years time then it's all free extra play in my books. Good to see you moving off the salvaged 18650 path. Walls of those things always make me nervous.
