Taiwanese Tea includes four main types: Oolong Tea, Black Tea, Green Tea, and White tea. The earliest record of Tea Trees found in Taiwan is from 1717AD, in Shui Sha Lian (水沙連), present-day Yuchi and Puli, Nantou County. Some of the Teas retain the Island Country's former name, Formosa. Oolong Teas grown in Taiwan account for about 20% of World Production, and are quite Favored and In-Demand by many Tea Drinkers for their Unique Taste and Flavors. There are many different places Tea Plants are grown on Taiwan, so, just like People, they're all a little bit different from each other, and there are many different ones produced. You could spend a Lifetime, trying them all, and just like Wines, each year's Crop is different from previous ones, so no two Productions are quite the same. Some years are better than others, and Prices reflect that. Taiwan is quite Mountainous, which makes for many Great Places to grow Tea Plants, which like Well Drained, Hillside Locations, of various Altitudes, depending on the Cultivar. The Tea Plants that were brought over to Taiwan from Mainland China are the ones that have Smaller Leaves. They're not inferior, just different, from the Larger Leaf Varietals. I also understand that the Tea Leaf Processing done on Taiwan is different from the ones usually done in places on Mainland China, but that about 30 years ago, the Taiwan Process was brought back to Mainland China, and has become quite popular, again, today. Fujian Province, where much of the Mainland Chinese Tea is grown, is located right across (about 90 miles) the Taiwan Straits, from Taiwan, so in many ways, they share much of the same Weather Conditions for growing Tea Plants, like Temperature, Humidity, Rainfall Amounts, Storms, and other Atmospherics . Fujian Province is mostly mountainous, and is traditionally said to be "Eight Parts Mountain, One Part Water, and One Part Farmland" (八山一水一分田). The soils, however, are different from Taiwan, so the Tea Leaves are not exactly the same Flavor, Color, Texture, Size, and Aroma, but each place's Teas have a lot to offer, and everyone should try as many of them as they can, to see for themselves, which one(s) they like to drink. I say TRY THEM ALL, and ENJOY THEM ALL too. ;o)

Thanks for the great content! For proper nouns like Oriental Beauty, it would be helpful for me if you guys put Chinese characters in the on-screen subtitles. Cheers from Japan.

What is the recommended way to brew oolong if I want to put it in a 400ml tumbler?
@taishanteaclub70192 жыл бұрын
We recommend that you use another brewing vessel and only put tea liquor to your tumbler, or you can use a tea filter bag and remove the tea bag after a few minutes.

Can i just brew it straight for 2 minutes ?
@taishanteaclub70192 жыл бұрын
Hi Hakan, we do not suggest that way, because too long brewing time will result in bitter flavour of tea.
