Orienteering- getting back to the truck or camp

For successful foraging or hunting, it is critical that you get off the roads and trails to find animals (or plants) in their habitat. In this video, we review technics for wandering around in the woods so you can get back to the truck or camp safely and with confidence.

there's really zero excuse for people getting lost these days. handheld gps have been around for quite some time now. I just shake my head every weekend when the news has stories about people needing rescue while simply hiking on trails above Vancouver.

breathe and squeeze the gps is a good tool but doesn’t replace paying attention to terrain features and using a compass. Thanks for the note.
