1. Jhana dependent on happiness more than concentration.

How?

@@Paul-kl2mnWhen our minds are full of loving kindness or compassion it is very easy for us to dwell there. We don’t force our minds to concentrate, we allow our minds to settle and become still. It is much easier to be still with states of happiness than when we try to wrestle or force our minds to be focussed.

Hello! Should these talks and meditation be explored in the order the Playlist is made? Or is there any order you suggest for a complete beginner?
@hansenmarc11 ай бұрын
It seems like the order in the playlist matches the order in which they were originally presented. So I would recommend listening to them in order in order to learn Rob’s approach. Of course, if there are some that intrigue you, go ahead and listen to them in whatever order you like to satisfy your curiosity.

It probably does not make much sense to listen past the jhana 3 talk before you're able to get into jhana 1 (or any other jhana). It also might make sense to listen to Rob's metta retreat first (and perhaps to the hindrances talk from one of the other retreats).

There are a lot of ads that I find somewhat jarring in this video.

Yes it is true and as you say quite jarring…perhaps they have to have the adverts to fund doing this ? Rob’s talks and wisdom are wonderful and I hope that they can be appreciated by seekers now and in the future. Gratitude to those putting the talks out.

Apologies about the ads! I should be able to turn them off soon, but unfortunately they are on “by default” when a channel is first starting out. You have to apply for monetization and be approved before you can turn them off, and to be eligible to apply for monetization you need at least 1k subscribers (check) and at least 4000 watch hours in the last 365 days. Right now we’re at 3849 and averaging around 50 hours a day! So hopefully quite close ❤️
