I love how this displays chara as just another victim of the humans' wrath, instead of a psychopathic murderer, because the game never pushes you to kill anyone, in fact it strongly discourages it, but it's the player's choice to do genocide, and that corrupts chara in the worst way possible, and this twisted people's view of what chara really was. @@AureliaKai Yeah, i was reading something and decided to copy pasta it: it explains how exactly chara isn't a villain. Being a member of the Chara Protection Squad/Defense Club, you can expect me to see Chara as anything but. It was thanks to a little video by the KZbin channel Judgement Boy called “Who is the True Villain of Undertale?”. This video that argues that Chara is anything but a force of evil formulates the basis of why I believe that Chara is a misguided victim. However as extremely well put together as it is there is glaring discrepancy seen in the video. Something that I will highlight in this answer. As with many people who defend Chara, the video argues that the reason that they act the way they do during the Genocide route is because we as the player had taught them that the only goal in life was to achieve power, and kill those who got in the way of obtaining it. So as a result, you see them at the end of the Genocide route thanking you for realizing their true purpose and helping them achieve power, and asks you to erase the world, all while addressing you as “partner”. BUT HERE’S THE DISCREPANCY PEOPLE! So here I am given the option of wiping out the world, and knowing what would happen if I refused I EAGERLY click on “ERASE”, Chara thanks me for my decision… …AND THEN ATTACKS ME ANYWAY!? Same attack animation; same damage inflicted; same fate as those who clicked on “DO NOT”!!!! IN ADDITION, when I come back to the game an wait ten minutes, they go on about how I think I’m above consequences. WHAT KIND OF A VILLAIN ARBITRARILY ATTACKS THE PERSON THEY SPENT THE LAST HALF-MINUTE THANKING; THEN WHEN I RETURN, STARTS SPEAKING ABOUT HOW I THINK I’M ABOVE CONSEQUENCES! I’m sorry people, but in the context that Chara’s a villain, THIS MAKES NO LICK OF BLOODY SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then I pondered about it a little more and asked myself: “What if even at that moment, Chara was never truly evil, even after the Genocide Route?”. And then it all makes sense. At the end of the Genocide route, just after the death of Flowey, the newly revived Chara knew that if they were to rush at us in a blind rage, their act revenge would fail as we would rush to defend ourselves. So they attempt something a little more subtle. The reason we see Chara with that grin on their face, and hear them thanking us, is that they want us to believe that they’re not an enemy, but rather an accomplice. in reality, that smile is nothing more than a mask that hides a facade of pure unbridled fury for the person that robbed them of the only people that cared for them. This ruse would cause us to let our guard down, so when the time was right, they’ll be able to dispatch of us with far greater ease. Now let’s talk about Chara following the completion of the Genocide run. I think they would erase the would, because there was truly nothing left for them to care about. However, that doesn’t mean they would keep it that way. If determination is powerful enough to reset entire timelines, then I truly think that if Chara wanted to restore the world, they very well had the power to do so. But, they wouldn’t do it yet for a very good reason. If they reset the world to it’s former state, then it would leave open to you once more, not having suffered any justice for your actions; and Chara would rather keep the world erased then to allow the people they love to be subject once more to the pleasures of the unfeeling god that has caused so much pain and misery, and will do so again. So they wait, until your “perverted sentimentality” gets the better of you where at that point they offer you the option of restoring the world… …at the cost of your soul. The reason for this, is because with your soul, Chara now has a testament against you and your actions, so that they will never forget what you did… …and never forgive. The justice that they bring upon us is forever denying us the pleasure of achieving a happy ending. I’m not implying that Chara would go so far as murder the main characters, but what’s seen at the end of the Soulless Pacifist Run is basically Chara’s way of telling us: “What the matter partner? I’m just giving you what you want. You don’t truly love these people, so why do you care what happens to them?” Also you know how in the end of your second Genocide route Chara calls themselves “the demon who comes when people call its name”? It’s because Chara is a demon, not in the sense that they’re a malevolent being with no other goal than destroying all of creation, but rather in the sense that they’re someone who is destined to bring suffering and torment to the sinners of hell for all eternity.

I remember every twist of undertale up to this day. Unfortunately Undertale is not immortal, as much as i would like it to be. It will eventually be forgotten, as well as all legendary games this day... Minecraft will slowly fade away through the years. Toby fox will eventually die of old age and Undertale / Deltarune will be gone... Their wonderful universes and soundtracks will be forgotten... Roblox seems going strong, but we know that it will at some point get the fate of two previous games... The legend of Zelda will become a legend and then disappear... Everything you love now, will fade, become obsolete and completely disappear in ≈50 years. Despite everything, it's still my favorite game (reference to true pacifist ending) I listen to AZGORE, hopes and dreams, Finale, spear of justice, battle against a true hero, death by glamour, bonetrousle, heartache at least twice a week. Not only because I love them, but because i want them to live on in my heart. *knowing the fact that you have managed to read through all of my nerding, you are filled with DETERMINATION* I loved this thing, I even added it to my personal playlist

I love the audible shifts in tone (to me they seem like switching between chara and flowey/asriel telling the story to frisk), but the parts that break my heart is the shifts halfway through a line: "You trust me-" "-and I trust you" "Victim of-" "-my Undertale" then it switches to the red/pink/white text, which feels like arguing between chara and asriel in the same body: "*If you plan to leave my world, you'll have to fight me too*- but how can I end your life- when all I think of is *you*?"

I miss undertale as it was. Sometimes we need something to bring us back to a simpler side of it instead of going through the theories and this and that. It's nice to just think of Asriel and Chara for what they were simply instead of Flowey and the demon to destroy the universe. A backtrack is nice. I feel like crying, remembering what undertale (pacifist) really is. A story about monsters and humans. A story about the monster prince finding a human child and helping them, regardless of their history. The monsters welcoming the child, taking care of it. The child becoming ill and passing, allowing the prince to take their soul to bring them home. The prince "dying". The unjustified killing of 6 human children, followed by a determined 7th who, no matter what, keeps moving forward. Who is Brave in the face of danger. Who Perseveres when it seems impossible. Who show's Kindness regardless of what is shown to them. Who is Patient with others. Who shows their Integrity when all seems lost. Who Justifies actions regardless of their origin. Makes friends with unbelievable people (monsters). And sets them all free, including the prince. By showing mercy. By being Kind. By being Brave. By showing Integrity. By being Patient. By bringing Justice. By Persevering with Determination. Showing a different kind of LOVE. This is long ik but hey- it's a good song.

People keep telling me they have these great emotions about video games including you who created this text to the tune. But I rarely feel it. But something about undertale makes me really feel for the characters. Not enough to surpress my desire as sans pointed out to see every option. But a great deal compared to other games.
