It took 2 tries, 3 hrs first one, 2.25 hrs second one, paper was 12" x 6" (30x15) both times. Thinnest cheap wrapping paper was too thick but glassine worked great for second attempt and it's quite lovely too (not readily available normally but I happen to have some). I added a pattern using gold metal marker on one side to help distinguish front vs back before folding. I've attempted origami at every decade of my long life but this is the first time trying something so difficult yet not difficult just because of having a very viewer-friendly video I can pause, slow, rewind. Thank you, Jo, for your creations and expert sharing - they are treasures! Don't be discouraged to try this, viewers. It was time consuming but worth it. If a grandma can do it, so can you. :)

Just folded it with a washi deluxe 24x12 gold / brown paper and the result looks so nice. It's a little big (the sheet was slightly bigger than what was suggested) but the paper is fragile so a smaller sheet would've probably been harder to fold... If I were to refold it, I'd use a paper with two colors less different, because the brown stripes are very visible in golden zones and vice versa. Thank you very much for sharing this tutorial.

Just when you seem to have done a step right and are internally gloating....he makes another fold and you're skipping back....wait what? How did he do that! Definitely worth it though. Amazing creativity🎉.

@@Liex09 No, everything doesn't have its opposite. And no, it's not like we need to remember death to understand the value of life. Maybe life has no value. I don't know about you, but I don't do any prep for my death.

What sorcery is this? To be honest, I boggled at around minute 18. But I really lost the plot in the last 5 minutes, when he was doing the wings. Not sure why that's what got me. Amazing!
