Shortly after this video was published, my dad was admitted to the ICU for complications relating to cancer and chemo. I was pregnant with my first child and was planning to tell him on his birthday 2 weeks later. Unable to sleep, I lay in bed crying and it was during this time that I discovered ASMR. This is the first or second video I ever saw and I was hooked. My dad passed away the day before his birthday and I never got to tell him about the baby. It took me 3-4 years to fully recover from his death. Maria, you are a godsend to me and opened my eyes to a new world that 5.5 years later I still listen to almost daily as does my almost 5 year old daughter. I do not get tingles, but it helps calm my anxiety that existed long before my dad's health issues. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!

7 years after starting to watch Maria, I consistently come back to her old videos. Quite honestly, I don't even watch the new ones. I start them, and just find myself pining for the old ones. Unrehearsed, spontaneous, lesser quality mics etc. Its all so charming. It's like watching your favorite old shows that comfort you, before they became too Hollywood and over produced. Don't get me wrong, I'm so proud of her success and progress, it's just not for me.
@vampiraJ4 жыл бұрын
Ida Adam i love how she speaks in these. Some of the newer ones there is a wetter mouth sound which I find unappealing. A few of my other favorite asmr people have taken to the excess mouth sounds and it’s not relaxing at all. All this to say, I agree with you on the less perfect videos. They are more relaxing.

This is the 1st time I've seen this video. Maria had not yet developed her signature slower speech pattern, punctuated with smiling nods, and an "Um humm.." that we all find endearing. Hi Maria - I love this video but it makes me feel sad when you referred to your 'creation inspiration folder' as 'tacky'. I am a visual artist & always have a journal where I draw & write my ideas - it is important to record your creative moments for the development of your creative expression & your own enjoyment. I saw the folder when you shared it in another video & there some beautiful drawings & other playful things which made me feel happy when I saw them. You are a beautiful person & I thank you for being so generous, caring & talented. ☺💖👍

I'm an "asmr" all my life - just didn't call it that. I know the "itchy" brain feeling and the asmr "trance" that I would go into as a young lad, often from just the "vibes" of certain people.
