9 years ago today I went online to look for a tutorial on how to fold napkins for the new years eve dinner I was about to host. This video came up and I sat there watching and admired the detailed tutorial and slowly getting mesmerized, not knowing what hit me. I don´t experience tingles so it wasn´t this big epiphany that happened. I just couldn´t look away or change to another video and sat through it even though I still had so, so much to do and prepare for the evening. And then the video was over and I felt so calm. I didn´t think about it anymore and got on with the preparations. The next day I kept thinking of the video and that was the first time I even registered the whispering! Like I said above, that was exactly 9 years ago and I can´t count the many sleepless nights or anxious/sad/grieving moments soothed by ASMR videos. I´m so grateful that this video came up when I looked up napkin folding. So grateful for the supportive Community that surrounds ASMR, so grateful for Maria and for all the creators, the time and effort spent, the love going into it, the encouragement and compassion pouring out of it. I have always wanted to express my gratitude to Maria and often started to type in the comment and never went through with it, thinking it too sentimental and too much in general. But I am grateful and I want to express it. So...here I go clicking on enter. Happy new year everybody!

I love this, I too discovered Maria and asmr in a very similar manner, I was looking up whispered relaxing voices to help for sleep (not knowing asmr was even a thing) and omg when I discovered the asmr community I was hooked and yes Maria was one the first videos I ever saw too! Very curious though, did you end up using any of her napkin ideas ? 😄

Dear GentleWhispering, I am a 41 year old woman who started watching your videos in my mid to late 30's. I just want to say that I thank you very much for taking the time to do these entertaining, educating videos that relax and soothe people's stress. You are a beautiful person on the outside and seem to be a beautiful person on in the inside. Your videos in my opinion reflect that. Thank you again and God Bless You and all your endeavors. :D

I can't believe this video is almost ten years old. It's still just as good as the first time I saw it. More than that, Maria could put this exact video out tomorrow and it would still make perfect sense. Only maybe the lint roller would make a few appearances :). Thank you, Maria, for always staying true to the real essence of ASMR. I truly appreciate what you do for us all!

I've seen all of your videos at least five or six times, even the really old ones that aren't on your channel anymore, and I still think this is my favorite. The asmr plus the subject put me to sleep without fail before bed. And when I stay awake, I learn how to do these fancy folds, which I've used a surprising amount of times.

Maria, I hope you'll read this. First of all, I absolutely adore you, and watch your videos every night religiously to fall asleep without being scared of sleeping alone. But as it came to my mind today, I thought I'd point it out so that it'll help you some way 🤗 I find myself scrolling through your videos and looking for the *old* ones. The videos starting from 2016 and before. I don't know why, but I can't fall asleep to the more recent ones, even though they're better in quality. I watch those videos in doing other things, and I LOVE them, but the old ones are the absolute best to fall asleep to.(esp. the one with Asus and old ring collection) Needless to say, I love all your videos, and try to leave a like on each one in hopes it will return my gratitude for your service as I'm a broke college student) I hope you have a wonderful day, year and the rest of your life! Imagine me sending you warmth and love every night I listen to you 🌷💜

Don't hate on Maria! She is a lovely person inside and out. If you don't appreciate her videos or the time she takes out of her life to make them for everyone don't watch them!

Just came across this. Very relaxing, and gave me ideas for my upcoming wedding! Can't decide between water lily and fleur de Los goblet
