But I can say that I very much appreciate that you focus more on experiential and practical applications of ships. I see so many reviews that just read the stats page. "This ship has this roll rate, and this that ship has that roll rate. This ship has these guns, and that ship has those guns. There fore This ship is better." I see so much of that, but I don't hear a whole lot of what it's like to be around and in the ship, and what its like to use.

This was really helpful! We've been debating on getting a 600i Explorer for our org's expedition fleet. Wasn't sure if it had a place as we already had a couple Carracks among the members. I think it has a niche being a capable ship while also not requiring a large crew. Additionally, it's a nice elegant area for org meetings/tours/shuttling other VIPs and allied org representatives.

But for now, we're a UEE-lawful Corvette Strike Wing. We'll unveil our expeditionary wing once Pyro is officially on the roadmap again. In a practical sense, we organize ops, offer patrols and escorts to protect non-org players, we often do cross-org events

Added the Touring version but upgrading for the tiny extra cargo of the explorer. I love the ship personally. Its great for Claim jumping missions as well as clearing spec of hostiles missions. Its like having a martini in luxury while collecting your $10,000 because you have the range to relax. Its an expensive run to the parts store if you want to A rate it but what the hell. Its only make believe,...right? Its a;so not small by any account but your video is spot on for a good informed walk about. Keep the reviews coming!

The amount I like a ship is usually directly proportional to the usefulness of that ship.. The 600i is beautiful but I am not sure what the exploration gameplay is going to look like at this point so it feels like these ships would be fun for a few days but after that I'm not sure what I would do with it unless exploration is much more in-depth than it seems.

Hi Farrister. The 600I is a very nice ship. I wish I had one. If I had one, I would get the Explorer version, though there is only one thing I'm not too fond of. That is the crew quarters being an large open bay and not broken up into separate small personal rooms for the individual crew members like the touring model. For long distant flights, I feel the crew should have their own space and not have to share it. Other than that it's a nice ship. Thanks for the great job you did. You did the ship justice. Thanks for the video! I stumbled across it due to it being in my Recommended feed. Here's hoping you will also make a new one once CIG finishes their planned rework. Initially I didn't think much of the 600i at first. The VIP Touring version had no extra escape pods for the VIPs (just like the Phoenix) which was a real "WTF?!" moment for me. The Explorer version I also found lacking as it had no medical facility, very limited fuel (same as the Touring) and I already owned a Carrack. Now with the increased shields and the planned rework where CIG stated that the Explorer variant WILL have a small medbay with a similar med-bed as the Carrack (Tier 2) I chained a lot of old CCUs together and got me a (relatively) cheap 600i Explorer so I have a smaller ship for those times when I don't have a crew. Now I hope that with the rework CIG will also increase the fueltanks as currently it can't really explore at all. Similar sized Cargo ships have more fuel than the 600i atm. I'm also sure that it will be far easier to automate those 2 remote turrets compared to the ones on the Carrack. 😅 I really hope that CIG will get rid of that annoying white light on the floor though. That thing annoys the hell out of me as it is always shining right in my eyes all the time. It serves zero purpose so I hope they will remove it. Otherwise I'll have to get creative and put something on that spot; like a Pico doll or something. 🤣

I did exactly what you suggested. I got the Hercules instead, with its MASSIVE cargo capacity I use that ship as my work horse to pay for everything in the game. The 600i will be my next in game game purchase. ( Although I will say the Hercules itself actually isn't a terrible exploration vessel, you just don't get anywhere near as good a view from it with the only window on the ship being the drivers windshield.

Really looking forward to the upcoming 600i rework. The concept art looks amazing, and the interior space is used a lot better. The touring version will have a pool, sauna, and hot tub, while the exploration will be able to fit a Nova tank in the cargo hold, and will finally have a Tier 2 medical bed, meaning it will almost certainly become my daily driver.

Thsi is my favorite ship in the game. Second only to the still unreleased Nautilus, which will be my final ship. But then again. we have to consider this is not a ship for everyone. With the upcoming rework the Origin 600i will be in my opinion the largest soloable ship in the game and it just feels so good to fly it and move around its interior. Plus it comes with a free Ursa Rover. They most likely will add a medbay, too. And it has a scanning station (it's not actually en engineering station). You can't possibly ask for more in a ever-expanding game like Star Citizen. And I do think it's going to be one of the best ships to travel to the new upcoming solar system. Differently from you, I think it's worth the money. And with the CCU system you can always upgrade to bigger and better ships. Eventually you'll get to the 400 euros mark. 75 EUR more and there you are.

rented one today. The hardest part of bounty missions was just keeping a lock. But it hits hard. It was pretty fun! I don’t like the crew bunk room (there is enough space to make 3-4 rooms like the Touring has). And I wish the rear turret could retract so it gets out of the way of the view. Other than that, it’s a great ship!

When the game launches, this feels like the perfect ship to start the game with. Sure it's not maximum cargo, but you won't have much money to fill a cargo ship anyway when the game launches. Instead the 40 scu will be a good starting point, on a ship that's very well defended with good weapons and maneuverability. Yes it's big and heavier then many other smaller starting ships, but it's mass allows it to handle high wind environments, and it will come with it's own rover too which will be perfect for the exploration missions that require a land vehicle. Eventually some of the better modules and weapons will be things you loot from wrecks on the surface of unexplored worlds, and with the 600i and it's included g12 rover, you will not only make money by trading, but also by data collected from exploring, and the gathering of rare expensive cargo and ship parts. All this while you are really enjoying your time in the universe, and when the requirement comes to sleep and eat and shower and use the bathroom, you will be all set with the 600i. Plus, just imagine when the pool table becomes usable!

It's a really good all rounder. Slightly less cargo storage than a Freelancer or Constellation, but a much nicer environment

Once the game launches (or we get the mechanic) the cargo space in the 600i Explorer will hopefully be devoted to resources like food, water, ammunition, etc needed for long journeys. It of course could be used for quick cargo runs but the ship wouldn't really shine there. Taking a GreyCat ROC out to go mining is the best use of time at the moment price-wise. 3.10's cargo profits have been heavily diminished for even a Caterpillar.

If I were to wake up In the Verse, the real me, The 600i Touring would be near or at the top of my list. Beautiful ship, nice rooms for myself and friends. But as for the game, it's a ways down the list. I've got a Carrack. And I really love it: A hangar and a garage, it really has that Prometheus vibe, a starship built to take on the universe all by itself.

I have a Target fleet that I want to have by Day 1 (official release) but I'm closer to having that than I expected. Perhaps within a year. Then it's on to "extras" like a 600i, maybe a Polaris. I can't tell you how badly I want a ship that can hold a REAL fighter. (best I can do with the Carrack is a Buccaneer)

well, compared to the carrack, 600i is much more friendly to the single players due to its 3xs5 weapons and 16xs3 missiles. One of the strongest single player ship for various PVE missions. And carrack can only be a cargo ship when you don’t have a friend with you.

I want to know how you got a rover in the cargo hold. Every time I have tried to put a rover on the cargo ramp and pull it up into the ship the rover has simply glitched through the ramp. I know patch 3.10 is supposed to fix the issue, but how did you do it?

Have a friend help you out. The rover is far less likely to glitch through with somebody in the driver seat as an active vehicle.

I usually don't like the Origin builds. Just that futuristic and high class esthetic just makes me feel too clean in a dirty world. Mostly, the size of the 890 just seems a waste for someone not hosting big gatherings or socializing. This ship seems like it will excel greatly in the future when core features come into play. I really wish there were some combat variants that dirty it up just a little OR something more utilitarian. Love the class size this ship fits in and doesn't feel overdone. The sheer amount of shit packed into that frame is crazy. I would love to buy this in the future.

the origon ships feel like being inside a modern apartment and don't really give the feeling on being on a ship, worst of all, not enough side windows, I think I still like the phoenix better

I like the capabilities of the ship, but I don't care for the aesthetics. I'm an Argo man (or would be, if I could play the game), and much prefer a more gritty, lived-in style of ship over the plastic, Apple Store design of the Origin ships (and the Gutamaya ships in Elite).

I honestly hate Star Citizen ship interior design. It makes zero sense. Most of these ships look like they are the work of a 2nd year architecture student who only designs abstract concept designs. Ships, even super luxury superyachts are not designed like this. There is SO MUCH wasted space. One room only has one pool table in it and nothing else. The crew bunks are single beds placed on the four corners of a giant hangar. The elevator is just an oversized limb crushing machine inviting lawsuits. The component room is just empty space. Corridors and hallways are even more empty space and for no good reason. If there's one singular and insurmountable limitation in naval architecture, it is physical space. You simply don't have enough of it. That is why corridors and galleys and rooms are always narrow and sort of crowded. Even in massive superyachts. Even in cruise ships. Especially so in naval vessels. But in Star Citizen, on top of being ships, these are actually space ships; meaning the repercussions of wasted space and weight should be so much more punishing than sea going vessels. I mean, I get "luxury". But there is luxury and then there's simple waste just for the heck of it. This kind of design just shatters my already strained suspension of disbelief.
