An Indian wrote a comment... Canada is the breeding ground of the Khalistan movement. My uncle was a student in Toronto from 1989-94. A lot of small Indian restaurants, Indian grocery stores, etc. were owned by Sikhs. My uncle told me that a large percentage of these stores had a sign saying "10% of profits are donated to make Khalistan." Some of the stores also had a box where shoppers could donate to the Khalistan movement. My uncle wrote letters to the Indian Consulates in Canada to inform them but never heard back from anyone. This is the time before social media. Of course, he never ate/shopped in those stores

SIKH's are brothers. I never felt any difference as a kid or till this day. After exams we use to go to Gurudwara sit there for hours and then go home as we frnds had a common believe that sitting at Guru Nanak Darbar solves all our issues and we would pass exams. We all used to go to langar everytime possible even after getting job I continued, So would they come to Jalaram Temple with me to collect prasad. We have volunteered for langar. I had peaceful community friends too but they never felt mine, but my Punjabi frnds were and still are extremely close to heart. They are so happy, cheerful and supportive that whenever I have any problem I go to them and they help me irrespective of our geographical limitations. one frnd is in germany, other in canada and 3 of them in India but when we call each other it feels as if we all are at one place.

I have lot of respect and love towards sikh as my grandfather use to say they have core sanatan dharama values. He said to me that If two sons were born, they make one son join army and other to agriculture. - I am blessed to listen to their ideology. Also said in war with Pakistan in 1965 I guess. They went on jeeps to attack pakistan army coming on tankers. Such a heroic actions. I am proud to listen such strength of Sikhs. But today hearing to this kalistan moment shocka me alot. On republic day removing India flag and hoisting sikh flag really made me she's tears from my eyes. This deseart religions are changing our history and making our own people against us. May be this is the reason. We call this timespan as Kaliyuga 🔥 May the glory of our ancestors are taught to the next generation else they will be puppet in the hands of anti nationals and anti hindu forces. Why did Sikh gurus not use the word "Waheguru" for God in their own hymns in Guru Granth Sahib? This is a very good question. 99.9% people are unaware of this issue. First its good to know some facts and background: SGGS contain the writing of only six gurus (first five and 9th guru). Total 36 writers’ bani together make SGGS. None of the six Guru’s bani contains the word Waheguru. Waheguru comes only 13 times only on page 1402 &1403. It is written by a Brahmin Bhatt Gyanand ji. The six gurus bani in SGGS ji revolves around “Hari naam” and “Ram naam” So far I have not been able to find answer to why they never used it? perhaps it was just one of the many names of Parmatma? Although just like any other religious text in the world, SGGS ji also refer to God with many names. But like in Dharmic Indian tradition, bani or mantras are focused on chanting a particular name of God, which then becomes Gurumantra. The Gurus used the word “Hari” and “Ram”, Hari comes in SGGS ji in like 7000+ lines and used like 9600+ times in SGGS ji. Where as Waheguru only comes 13 times and in only 5 lines written by only one writer Bhatt Gayand ji. His Hymns are written below. Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Jee-o. You are lotus-eyed, with sweet speech, exalted and embellished with millions of companions. Mother Yashoda invited You to eat the sweet rice. Gazing upon Your supremely beautiful form, and hearing the musical sounds of Your silver bells tinkling, she was intoxicated with delight. Death's pen and command are in Your hands. Tell me, who can erase it? Shiva and Brahma yearn to enshrine Your spiritual wisdom in their hearts. You are forever True, the Home of Excellence, the Primal Supreme Being. Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Jee-o. ||1||6|| You are blessed with the Lord's Name, the supreme mansion, and clear understanding. You are the Formless, Infinite Lord; who can compare to You? For the sake of the pure-hearted devotee Prahlaad, You took the form of the man-lion, to tear apart and destroy Harnaakhash with your claws. You hold Shankh, Chakra, Gadha, padam, You deceived Baliraja; who can know You? You are forever True, the Home of Excellence, the Primal Supreme Being. Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Jee-o. ||2||7|| You wear yellow robes, with teeth like jasmine flowers; You dwell with Your lover (Priya/Lakshami), with Your mala around Your neck, and You joyfully adorn Your head with the crow of peacock feathers. You have no advisors, You are so very patient; You are the Upholder of the Dharma, unseen and unfathomable. You have staged the play of the Universe with joy and delight. No one can speak Your Unspoken Speech. You are pervading the three worlds. You assume the form of spiritual perfection, O King of kings. You are forever True, the Home of Excellence, the Primal Supreme Being. Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Jee-o. ||3||8|| As you can see its the praise of Shri Krishan and his entire description and describing some of the major things that Shri Krishan did. None of the Gurus seems to have ever japp “waheguru” but rather their entire “naam-Jappna” revolved around “Hari naam” & “Ram naam” When it was started to be used? No Idea. I don’t think anyone would honestly have an answer to that. Then again Bhai Gurdas in Vaar 1 Pauri 49 also explained the meaning of Vaheguru. Va -> In Sat Yuga V reminds of Vishnu as Vasudev He -> In Dwapra Yuga H reminds of Hare Karishan Gu -> In Kali Yuga G reminds of Govind in form of Guru Nanak Ru -> In Treta Yuga R reminds of Ram Chandra “When joining four letters Vahiguru is remembered” says Bhai Gurdas Ji # adding the bani of Bhai Gurdass ji to the original answer. www.quora.com/Why-did-Sikh-gurus-not-use-the-word-Waheguru-for-God-in-their-own-hymns-in-Guru-Granth-Sahib
