It's so hard to believe in something you can't see and when you hear so many stories about who is right and wrong. But those feelings in your gut that guides you to right and wrong, those goosebumps on your skin when something touches you emotionally, that desire to help someone who is less fortunate than you are is the same love God has and is what drives humankind to do good things in the world. Sicknesses, cancers, broken hearts don't come from God. Our ability to learn from these trials, fight through them and the tell our story to someone else, our growth as human beings when we make it through tragedy is proof of love we can't see. A relationship with God has nothing to do with anyone else here on earth. I have been in some really dark places on my life but every time I would hear a bird chirp or feel the sun on my face or the wind in my hair and realize even though I am small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things and in this huge world even I can do good for someone else and that is love.

God is supposed to be love, if he is up there and doesn't look down on moments like this with a smile and love in his heart, then it's a God that doesn't have a place in this world anymore. There is nothing Catholic in the song, and nothing about faith in it either. Leonard Cohen's use of the word "Hallelujah" is not religious, but secular, and in a sense blasphemous. For a priest to sing this at the altar, while vested for Mass, and (it seems) during a wedding Mass is not lovely or nice, but is in fact shocking. All the more shocking that so many people think it is lovely.

This beautiful Hallelujah song I sang it at my cousin's wedding 1 month ago and I did it after the wedding march, when I was singing it everyone in the church was in tears and more my cousin whom I had not seen for 15 years and when I finished we gave each other a big hug that lasted a few minutes and we swore not to be separated anymore while all my relatives and the relatives of the groom did not believe that I had sung this song since I belong to the gothic culture

This only criticism I have is about microphone choice. That poor mic was not up for what Father Ray gave it. Then again, I'm a musician and an audio engineer along with being a Minister myself. You keep doing your thing Father Ray, that was amazing.
