I love how you made it an "original japanese Bowie knife" with the addition of the rising sun on the end of the handle. Lol, it is awesome to watch you work, sir.

Looks more like a camp knife or hunter. I always thought Bowie knives had at least a 10" blade if not bigger. But I am a hunter what do I know.😕👍 My Bowie has a 12 Inch blade.

Really good restoration, I really appreciate your skill. Your reuse of all the original pieces was spot on. I like the red and white on the pummel its a good touch but The bolt nut on the end would have made it completely original. Still an excellent restoration. Your skill is without question.

A very restoration especialy for the sheath/scabbard. I never thought it could be saved. hat knife is a cheap simple one that was produced in masses. As a teenager in the 1970's i had one of these. But the restored knife turns out beautiful.

I have an almost identical knife to this one. My dad gifted it to me, must be 40 odd years ago now and he had it for 20 to 25 years before that. It’s current condition is as good as it gets for such an old item. Had to resew the sheath years ago as the original cotton had frayed.

I bought my ‘original Bowie knife made in Japan’ in 1969 from an army disposal Brisbane Australia.l I used it as my Boy Scout knife for many years and it still sits proudly in my main tool box. I think it cost $1.75 that was a lot of pocket money

I'm only trying to sell due to rough times we are all feeling the crunch of but your finished product blew my mind iñ so many ways. Well done!
