I just picked up a 1957 vintage Colt Agent.38. It has a modest amount of holster wear, but the action is smooth and tight, and the chambers and bore are mint.

I finally picked up my Agent. I got the box and all. I swapped original short grips for aftermarket reproduction panel grips. They look like your's but they are lighter. I need a set of original grips. I'm doing a video on it soon. The early Agents and even when the first put the ejector shroud on them, they looked beautiful. Not sure why they made them that way because from what I understand they were supposed to be a scaled back version of the Cobra but they look amazing. Mine has been shot by previous owner, but I haven't yet. It literally looks brand new like it was just made and had a very nice bluing job on the cylinder, crane and barrel. I absolutely love it. It is perfectly in between a S&W J and K frame. I love my Smiths, but the Agent is really nice. It has the roll pin hammer too.

How much did you pay for yours and what is a fair price now for one in decent condition?

That’s a beauty! Hardly a mark to show its age. Learned a few things.

How in the world did you manage to find an unfired Cobra? I have my Dad's that he carried as a backup. It has lots of holster wear but it shoots fine.

I just saw a new black Cobra that had the hammer and it had grips like your old one. They were that style but pretty crappy looking but that style which looked cool. It wasn't a double action only like the other Night Cobras

Nice gun man! Please feel free to talk away about it! I have my first Colt on layaway. It is a 1st issue Agent. It looks like your Cobra mostly but has shorter panel grips. I can't wait. Mine also has the roll pin on the hammer. They only did that a very short while.

My grandpa gived me a colt cobra 1st issue in Mexico fully engraved with engraved horn grips. It's seems very old and I want to know if anybody knows if it is origanal I have been searching but I can't find 1 just like mine

Thanks for the video! Except for the grip, your Cobra looks identical to my unfired 1967 Colt Agent. Does the new Cobra have the same size cylinder and chamber spacing as the original? My new King Cobra does have the same size cylinder as my old Agent and DS.
