Another reviewer showed the standard Avata has a higher top speed in manual than the modified Avata. The modded Avatar however definitely has more acceleration and control in tight manoeuvres. The bigger propellers also mean the guard rings come into view more frequently than the standard Avata. I believe the Axis mod will best suit those wanting a more freestyle acrobatic capable FPV. Those less concerned with outright acrobatics and wanting more cinematic footage might be happy with standard Avata. The lower noise with the Axial upgrade is definitely a plus to avoid unwanted confrontations. Have only owned it for a week, so may purchase Axial kit in 6 months. Someone was also talking about redesigning the Axial frame to move the gimbal further forward in front of the propellers.

So now it’s 4 months later. Has the Avata died yet from all this Motor Overloaded warnings yet? I did my kit last week and am wondering if I should be at all concerned about it, or just treat it like a race car that is hitting its rev limiter. Will it blow up my esc? Or just keep crying?

Still flying decently. 😁

Great comparison, the upgrade really fixes the noise. Do you see the prop guards in the on-board video much after the upgrade?

If flying in normal mode the prop guard will appear in frame, but with gyroflow usually it is cropped out.

I'm new with fpv and I just bought avata since December 2022 I fly in simulator about 30-40 hours before I decide to try my skill in real life and I totally failed for take-off in manual mode because the drone is automatically descend it self. At the end of this video I saw 157-2 not have any decent problem I think this means a lot for newbie like me because it makes manual take-off look more easily to control
@HappyDrone89 Жыл бұрын

@HappyDrone89 Жыл бұрын
Thanks too for your comment! Tbh no idea on the motor remapping and tuning matter though..
@jameslee6881 Жыл бұрын
@HappyDrone89 I found out that you don't have to remap motors and the PIDS can be adjusted in the goggles under settings remote controller.
@andreachiuppi Жыл бұрын
@@jameslee6881 You cannot remap engines, as you cannot access Betaflight-type software. Nor are the PiDs that are set at the factory. At most you can work only and exclusively on installments. Nothing else can be done. Obviously I have Avata and also this modification. The Avata must be conducted as it was designed, and this very good modification must absolutely not distort the way of conducting the Avata as it was conceived, Yes, of course, split s, rotation of fast rolls and yaws, powerloop is fine, but they must all be measured, in such a way as to always create a nice kinematic flight. Accelerations yes, but they must be progressive, otherwise the vision in the camera becomes a trembling hair, as indeed is felt in this video. Thinking you have an almost 5 inch is nonsense. Then we might as well buy the Cinebot 30 and be daring with this one. Which is a very good drone and which I really recommend to everyone.
@jameslee6881 Жыл бұрын
@@andreachiuppi incorrect on tuning the PIDS they are accessible but only in manual mode. Under controller and expo .100% they are there and adjustable.
@andreachiuppi Жыл бұрын
@@jameslee6881 I insist... the values you see are only the rates, in fact you adjust the stick values. It is not for nothing that you find these under the radio control heading. It is not possible to edit (unfortunately) PiD and filters on Avata. Betaflight reports RC Rate, Rate and RC Expo and on Avata they are the ones with different names. You can only sew the remote control on yourself better, but you cannot operate on the PiDs, also because the PiDs, depending on the version, are at least 4. Then you know that it is not possible to adjust only the PiDs and not the Rates on the classic home-built drone. You wouldn't be able to make it fly as you would like.

Sorry I'm not very good with technical issues of fpv drones, I would like to install the new configuration to make my avatar go faster in normal and sport mode. I haven't learned the manual mode yet. is it possible to do this or does it increase the speed only in manual? Thank you
@HappyDrone89 Жыл бұрын
Yeap as shown in the video, normal and Sport modes are not affected in terms of speed, only manual mode is affected with greater power output
@DessiLu14 Жыл бұрын
Motor Overloaded error keeps popping up. Is that normal?
@HappyDrone89 Жыл бұрын
That's just Avata's system own reading, axisflying Motor power cap is higher than that. You can check out Axisflying test flight video, thr overload message also keeps popping up.

Great review bro. Planning to get the Avata within the next couple of months. It does appear from your test that owners of the Axisflying package derive the most benefits from Manual mode, otherwise Sport & Normal modes are essentially the same on the modded unit vis-a-vis the stock Avata. tofu#10 FPV did a battery test on his channel with an Axisflying Avata & Unmodded Avata chasing each other on a circular track. The Axisflying appears to drain the battery slightly more but the differences are minimal. The thing I am interested is how much those C157 motors will help in windy conditions as the stock Avata can be susceptible to strong gusts. Also, are you using ham file FCC mod ?
@HappyDrone89 Жыл бұрын
Yeap it benefits the most under manual mode, and yes battery does drain slightly more but rather unnoticeable. Regarding flying against strong winds, I have yet to do enough testing to verify that but will take note on that! Thanks for your extensive feedbacks!
@dingdongchingchong8659 Жыл бұрын
@@HappyDrone89 I built fixed wing and multicopter planes a long time ago and I can in theory tell you. For stock, at low windspeed the Avata handles okay, the AF also handles okay. For medium windspeed the Avata handles it okay but high battery drain to maintain position, the AF handles it okay but medium battery drain to maintain position. For high windspeed, the Avata struggles and would tilt too much to maintain position and high battery drain, the AF would tilt less than Avata and medium-high battery drain, but the positioning would not be as responsive or accurate as the Avata (this is probably due to the PID and other settings are only optimised for the Avata and knows nothing about the upgraded AF motors. If optimised for AF, for example, motor load is more correct, the AF would be perfect). Basically, lower kv and wider propellers means better thrust ratio, but maximum speed/responsiveness might be reduced.

@HappyDrone89 Жыл бұрын
Thanks bro! yea the battery drains slightly faster but not noticeable
@dingdongchingchong8659 Жыл бұрын
Battery drain is because of larger propellers and heavier motors, more torque is needed to drive them, This higher torque requirement means, i.e lower kv needed to tolerate and maintain response and flow for larger propellers. otherwise if using stock motors can over heat or skip/clog motor basically damaging them. It can also confuse ESC.

This is sarcasm, right? Lol These modifications turn the Avata into the drone it should have been at launch. Stability, control, sound, and power appear to be massively improved, effectively solving the Achilles heel of the Avata with that terrible tumble. No more falling out of the sky. My only concern is the battery life.
