@starhammer524718 күн бұрын
Fun fact: Power Armour Training only exists in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. In Fallout 1, you put it on immediately after getting it and it's described as if wearing it is like wearing a second skin. In Fallout 2, the exact same thing applies except you should be even less qualified as you're a tribal but you still put it on and master it immediately. In Fallout Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel, training also isn't required. Out of eight games, only two have training. Power Armour Training was only introduced to combat how common Power Armour was in 3 and it was a hold over in New Vegas (I still find it stupid how the NCR would rather tear out what made Power Armour Power Armour instead of just trying to figure out how it works, it's not Mjolnir).

Like, just have a really long, episode style cutscene of your customized character going on a post-gameplay, non-playable adventure, showing interactions and changes to the world based on your decisions throughout your playthrough. Circling back to a shot of your character going to their home or a specific place of significance (also based on your choices) and than loading the game back up right where the cutscene ends, with new stuff to do and explore now that the main story is over and you've gotten to see what kind of effect your actions have had on this new world you're about to re-experience.

Cain says something that I think is really important on why the show works so well. A movie or TV show is a different medium and as such there are just some things from the game that do not translate to that medium. Walton Goggins says something kinda similar on KFC when he says that he didn't want to play the game cause he didn't want his judgement clouded by the want to map the game 1:1. I think that is super important and shows that the people making the show know what they are doing because they cut what they had to and kept what they could.

Bethesda glazers ignore the fact that there is legitimate criticisms of the show from a classic fans perspective. The show was a great adaptation of Bethesda Fallout but that’s the problem it’s BETHESDA’S goofy interpretation of Fallout not the original vision. Which wouldn’t be a problem if they set the show ANYWHERE besides the west coast. Tim Cain liked the show but other Fallout devs were either indifferent (Josh Sawyer) or disliked it (Chris Avellone) and classic Fallout/ New Vegas was made by a team just because Tim Cain says something doesn’t mean classic fans have to agree with it. For example Avellone wanted Fallout to return to the status quo of “wasteland” instead of seeing new factions rise and society progressing. Which I disagree with as Fallout is most interesting seeing different societies vying for control.

Tbh if we are talking about Fallout lorewise- it's better to call Chris Avellone the godfather of Fallout, because he's the author of Fallout bible. When Fallout 3 came out Tim Cain complained about a number of things, all of which the show did WORSE. I don't know about other fans, but for me he never was any kind of authority on the subject (as he was the lead PROGRAMMER not a writer), especially now that he did 180 with his views about post-Interplay Fallouts. As for the TV show: It doesn't feel like Fallout. It feels like a parody of Bethesda's Fallouts, which in turn already are a parody of Fallout. So... a parody of a parody. For me the show was just... nonsensically boring.
