Everything condensed down to one remote control!!... Impressive!!.. During production it took around six people to manipulate all of the effects on the "hero cars" ..

Honestly love these videos! Especially seeing more videos of the original cars used in the Herbie film, and how they work! Keep it up 👍🏼

You are so lucky to be able to work on one of the Herbie prop cars! Those Herbie Fully Loaded cars are super impressive, especially considering how much they were able to put in them and everything they were able to do! And don’t worry. I don’t think Herbie will eat you. He only ever ate Peter Thorndyke, Alonzo Hawk (in a dream), Inca Empire Gold, and a plane… Okay, so he’s eaten quite a lot before, but I think you’ll be okay. He is not Bruce from Jaws or Rexy from Jurassic Park after all!

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to film and share this experience with us. As a kid who grew up with this film I always wondered what Disney ended up doing with these cars. This was more than I could have hoped for.

While Herbie fully loaded is my least favorite movie of the series these days, I have to appreciate the amount of care that went into the Herbies made for the movie, and the fact that they used practical effects when they could.

Very Nice! I have a Herbie also but wish it was fully loaded and do all the tricks that Herbie did in the film! 😂 Great Video! 👍 Merry Christmas! 🎄

I hope if you have to do maintenance that you’ll record a step-by-step process for making everything operate! I want to be able to do this with mine!

I’ve seen one where the hub caps fall on the ground then get pulled back onto the wheel. Would be interesting to see how they made that work

I’ve seen that. A very impressive car that, unless I’m mistaken, was done using simple methods.

I know these struggles well. 😄 How large a stroke do you have on those actuators on the hood? I’m running 4”, but I’ve got mine connected at the bolt cause the angle 📐 wasn’t conducive to opening and closing. If this is where you leave it I’ll be curious to know how much pressure you used to open and close. Mine opens at about 80pounds. Keep at it. Fun project.

This is a customer’s car, and is one of quite a handful used in the film (about 35 total, I believe).

Are you aware of how many Herbies were used in total for all 6 films?
@m1llrtime532 жыл бұрын
It is believed there were around 40 made for the original 4 films, but that’s just an educated guess. Many were recycled from film to film, but not all, so it’s hard to say. There are around 25 of those known to still exits. I believe there was 35 made for Herbie Fully Loaded alone.
