I cried an ocean of tears reading Mipha's diary in the new DLC...but I somehow made it through the sorrow to make this animatic of one of my favorite entries in her diary. Kinda angsty but still cute! Anyways, consider this my Christmas gift to you all. Merry Christmas~~~

Mike Rice I don't think Link remembers his past lives, in most cases it seems only Zelda and Ganon have any recollection of their roles. Link is just a hero called to fight, to protect the reincarnation of Hylia and combat the reincarnation of Demise.

Honestly, this makes one question about Link's personality a lot. At least i do... Imagine having a bright and fun childhood. Being able to do all the fun stuff you like, mostly because you are "The child of prophecy, who banishes the darkness of legend". But only to get completly reduced to that destiny. What you have to become. Fun or hobbies, friends or anything you had in mind for your future is stripped away from you violently. You have no choice other than obey what you have to become. Noone shows mercy, noone even tries to understand. Only seeing the tool to their own well being. Wouldn't you start to fall silent? Or stop smiling? Unable to feel free of any sort, until you finally are able to fullfill your destiny? Or.. perhaps even break free from it? This doesn't only apply to Link, if you think about it. Zelda most certainly displayed how much pressure was put on her. And if you think back to Windwaker you can tell that Ganondorf too isn't pleased about Demises curse. I really feel sorry for them...

Lento Glacier actually, Link in BoTW is the only Link who wasn’t destined. He was only chosen because he worked hard to get to where he was. This is shown in Zelda’s diary.

He come from a knight family. He at least wanted to make a standing in his family and kingdom by take up the mantle of Hero. It just the responsibility become a burden on way. It's like you wanted the fame and you know the road is rocky. But still, you got surprised about how the road is rocky so you had to improvise, adapt, and overcome the surprising situation.

I think i get where you are coming from, however i don't really understand where you are going at with this. Lento Glacier This makes me wonder, what happened the other Heroes like Link from Twilight Princess or A Link to the Past did after saving Hyrule and knowing they would go back to their normal lifes before Ganon attacked. I totally doubt their lives would be normal after facing near death while fighting powerful demon on Quests in which they would probably die.

I like how they inferred how this revelation of his grand Destiny didn’t just effect friends and loved ones but himself as well. He was brave, our spoken, confident, always smiling then after a while doubt settled in he held everything in and kept a tough face for people who depended on him. He smiled less and became more reserved and quiet. He focuses so hard on his training but deep down all this prophecy stuff seems to actually bother him. He realized he became the main character and realized all the suffering that comes with it.

You can find it somewhere around Riju's Diary) Revali's Diary : Teba's house (Somewhere next to Kaneli's house. Kaneli is the Rito Elder) Daruk's Diary : Yunobo's house (Somewhere south of Goron City. By south, I mean the southern map of Goron City) I still haven't found King Rhoam's and Zelda's. But you can read King Rhoam's entry as Old Man in his shack in Great Plateau

Link might have been considered tall or at least average before 100 year time skip, and the hylians around him just got taller over time. this is a thing that has happened in the real world, people back in the day weren't as tall as they are now.

Honestly kind of sad. Link used to be such a happy person and used to talk but after becoming the champion the hero that will slay Ganon he became cold and blank because he didn't want to show his emotions in order to seem like a true hero because of the pressure. Makes you realize how much link must be dying on the inside. Edit: totally wasn't expecting all the comments back, I'm also rather curious was it just the pressure that made Link go into silence or did something happen to him where he felt like he didn't want to speak because it be too painful to talk about?

Wow. When I first saw the video appear in my recommend list, I thought it would be one of those comedic shorts where the female character is writing in her diary about her crush and her crush walks in and she tries to hide it from him. But instead, I got a very sad and yet beautiful and moving little story about Mipha noticing Link being an adorable and happy child, and eventually changing into a man of few words, less smiles, and a hint of something troubling him. And personally, I like that type of video better. Thank you.

Jordan Graupmann I always believed that the Zora age slower than Hylians. When you see Sidon in the DLC, he was a young child, but after 100 years pass he only looks like a young adult. And a lot of the characters you talk to in the game comment about how Link should be dead or something to that extent. Also, in Mipha's memory she comments on how Link looked older faster than she did. So that's why I drew Mipha to look older than Link in the first part.

This left me speechless. I've invested so much time in this game and is my favorite game of all time, so this video just blew me away. You get a snippet of this vast universe brought to life with the power of art including the music which is used so well. Ethan Sines He is, and the action shots are AMAZING. But Mipha's really conveys emotion. The gap of the time Mipha wrote the first entry and the second shows that she forgot to write in for a LONG time. (14ish years.) Daruk's feels like he wrote everyday, but only for 5 days. Revali looks like he wrote once a week until he got cocky enough to think he was too "Cool" for a diary. Urbosa feels like she only writes things that SHE feels are important, like , *SPOILERZ* The queen's death, Meeting Link, etc.

In my opinion, BOTW's link is quite limited in his choice of weapons. sword and bow mainly, side items like pole arms and boomerangs. but all the other links can use these items too, the only exception is the Skeikah slate. the chances that he will be able to use it as effectively as his sword a shield is very unlikely because he hasn't had the same amount of training as did with a sword. Knights typically started training from the age of seven, assuming he is the same age as Zelda, link has had 10 years of training. TP's Link is by far the strongest physically without any items to help him. we see this at Snowpeak ruins where he lifts solid metal balls about 2 times the size of his head, with no assistance. Child Link/MM's Is by far the most powerful of them all, because of one key item, The Fierce Deity Mask. The double helix sword that he uses is twice as more powerful as the master sword and can always shoot magic, without full health. Also, I am so sorry for going full zelda addict on this. XD

Kian Brewin. Yeah but here is the thing. Link from Breath of the Wild can have hearts up to 30, not 20 like any other games. His Master Sword can kill normal enemies with one hit (in it's prime form in trail of the sword) and Link from Breath of the Wild diffidently fought the most dangerous and most powerful Ganon (not including the 2nd form)

I'd always hoped to see more effort in the diaries for each of the champions, but I was so disappointed that it was just...reading... No art, no music...just words. I just noticed the slight purple shading on Links back as he's walking to Zora's domain- is that to represent the burden of being the only one who can truly destroy calamity Ganon? Because he's the only one who can use the sword that seals the darkness- and purple is a colour often seen in the malice so I just thought it had a big meaning-

I know this is late, but I was rewatching Breath Of The Wild content (and it keeps popping up lol) now that Tears Of The Kingdom is out. But, if you still happen not to know yet by chance, reguarding what you said, you are correct. It was revealed in Zelda's diary, that once Link and Zelda got close, Link had opened up to her, and that is exactly what he said to her one day :( That's one of the reasons Zelda was able to understand Link better and eventually got close to him, because of how they were both the only ones who felt they understood eachother and such

This broke my heart, it makes me cry to think link was once so talkative and to see him now.... you wonder what happened to him. my money is on the fact his dad was like zelda's and made link grow up faster then other kids. like just imagine being forced to train and being told your only meaning in life is to protect the princess. like that explains why hes so self sacrificing, like if you watch all the cut scenes and back to how people talked about him you can tell he gives 0 fucks about him self. your art was amazing by the way. I appreciate the hard work put on this and it is amazing. However I have a problem with the drawing. I don't even know how to draw but I think you didn't got right the characters age. At Breath Of the Wild link is not an adult yet, he's more like an adolescent (judging by his appearance) and you draw it more like an big man. Also when you drew him has a child it didn't looked much like one, it was more like an adolescent. This is just my opinion and I think it can make you improve. Keep up whit the great work! 👍 (Sorry for the misspelling)

BOTW Link is over 100 years old. In Hyrule, the age of 17 is considered an adult. So I believe the artist had the ages orrect, and while the coloring and art is really good the facial shapes id bother me a lot, specially Link. I felt that his chin was too sharp, and the face was less round as seen in the game an in official art of the game. Though this is my opinion, I think the art was great and this was a really goo illustration of Mipha's Dairy.

Fairydragon12 Yeah, you're right Link it's over 100 years old, but he still didn't looked like a four years old when he was so in the animation, and also remember that Link didn't grew up when he was sleep for one hundred years, so he's still an adolescent. Now, even if seventeen is considered the age for an adult on Hyrule, that still doesn't mean that people of that age would look as twenty-five years old mens.
