Sid Soldier has always been the dad to the fandom. or the edgy grandpa. But he and reaper are very active and face to face in combat so they give a younger vibe so they are compared to dad's for their respective groups, especially with the more serious tones and personalities. Rein is definitely likened to the cool Grandpa though, more playful like those sorts would be. Ana is the experienced mother of the group and her personality shows it so she's likened to nana Ana. Mercy is like a younger mom in comparison as to personality, especially with her more active role in healing on the battlefield so she's just seen as the mom.
