I have 2 wiz in my part, Fane and Lohse. Fane is fire and earth, and Lohse is water and air. I get the best moments by making areas wet outside of combat, then having Fane turn that area into a huge poison swamp, initiating combat when Fane lights up the huge slick of poison, then teleporting him out of the fire with Lohse.

two point in scoundrel and huntsman are never wasted, only one even in lone wolf Adrenaline, Cloak and Dagger for scoundrel, tactical retreat and first aid are amazing skills for all builds. Great videos mate, funny, good quality, and you actually know what you are talking about. I see dozens of "ultimate build" videos where the guys have no idea what they are talking about, theyve read some reddit post and take the mechanics for granted, not knowing shit about how the actual mechanics in the game work. GG keep up the great job :) Would like to see a vid about dual Lone Wolf builds, preferably physical dmg dealers :)

The way I experienced it ; ONLY warfare increases only physical damage, all other means to up damage or crit multiplier, mention just plain damage (so everything) Leading to any 1 magic tree +scoundrel tree with Savage Sortilage +2 hander(staff) or dual wield (wands) is highest damage output with any spare points into the tree that up's damage from altitude(situational) Hence warfare+scoundrel+2hander = biggest dps With magic you need to spread points more, also "melee" attacks with the staff do ELEMENTAL(magic) damage with the governing attribute being INT. So to get most magic dps is ; 1 school, 2 handers(staff) or dual wield(wands), scoundrel and the rest of the points you are left with at 20 in the damage from altitude. Personally I choose dual wield wands too, because the extra range on the wand attacks IS useful , especially when solo or in smaller parties. Attributes should be divided over INT and Wits for higher crit and initiative with just enough in memory to get the spells you absolutely need to hold in a fight. Of coarse there is no real need to go all out max dps as the game is very forgiving and works even with sub optimal stat spreading.

Best i culd come up with is: The ususal sp on hunter, war for adrenaline, tatctical retreat. Other thn that, 5 sp on aero and hydro, 1 geo for fortify, 2 pyro for high dmg finishing spells, all of the other points on poly - inteligence to boost all skills. I had 2 wizs with this build in my party plus 90 ST red prince and a support. Made the last fight fast and boring, 4 hits 1 turn to kill the kraken.

Playing a wizard is like pulling teeth as you get further into the game. While you're trying to get your opponent's magic armor down, a similarly geared physical companion has already taken out their physical armor and like half of their actual hp.. If you have a melee friend who needs to be in the thick of the action then creating oil/poison based fields of death isn't usually a good idea. You're right about one thing, after blowing your proverbial load you aren't left with much to do but spam wand attacks. I definitely want to like full casters since relying on summons is a bit cheap, plus things like bone widow have been tuned down in the recent patch.
@Kilioh15

BloodofCaine You first point is invalid because if you go for only one enemy with all your characters, it's your fault if it becomes awkward. And I never run out of spells to cast. Just pump at least one point in memory every time you get the points. I'm level 14 and have like 22 memory and never run out of spells to cast.

BloodofCaine 1 controller, 2 pyromancers (one using staff), and a summoner/controller is OP as hell. Tactician has been a breeze and im level 18. One pyromancer is glass cannon and does 1k damage with laser ray at 0% fire res and it only costs 2 ap with elemental affinity
@MrLastGuide
@MrLastGuide 7 жыл бұрын
stick to the mage i had a geomancer/pyro in my first party and i killed my melees a few times (played by friends and man they where pissed) but he put in some crazy work later! you'll get plenty of good spells that only target enemies (flame infestation, earthquake, pyroclastic eruption!!!) just be patient and learn how to max out elemental affinity its crucial to being a monster mage. (within arguably the hardest 2 fights in the game, no spoilers here, the mage saved the day oneshotting half the enemies and putting a big dent into the survivors)
@libenhagos9335
@libenhagos9335 7 жыл бұрын
You kidding? Mage spells do a ton more actual damage than physical abilities. And you have much more variability with mage spells in terms of actual damage type. If you're a warrior and you're fighting a void woken with 99% physical resistance you're kinda screwed.
@antonioussykas4140
@antonioussykas4140 7 жыл бұрын
Use summoner to create a fighting minion who is fire immune and deals magic damage. Have him and your mage lock down the enemy fighters, who will lose magic armor like crazy running through the elemental damage. The party's actual fighters, they are busy ripping up the enemy back line. Fighters have weak magic armor, mages have weak physical. Just have the party focus the proper targets and profit. If you need some physical damage, just use shield bounce and deal insane physical for zero investment to two targets.

For the intro alone it was worth watching it. On a more serious note, you don´t give humans enough credit though. Savage Sortilege + Hothead and Ingenious nets up 15 % spell crit in the early game. Invest some points in wits later on for even more crit. On AoE effects (or any multi-hit spell, as the game checks crit on every single hit) this can become huge, especially in the later part of the game. Rangers (and even scoundrels to some extend) can help stripping magic armor. Stench isn´t worth it in my opinion. Weak physical armor can be mitigated in two ways: 1.) Wear a shield on your casters 2.) Invest minimal points in strengh to wear heavy armor, one or two pieces are usually enough. I tried both and it is viable. Talents don´t come by easily, attrbute points on the other hand do.

@Quackstack
@Quackstack 7 жыл бұрын
+Nakura Thanks for the support! :) I don't like either of those. Elemental affinity is ewww. 1 ap reduction for specific spells depending on what you're standing on is not worth getting hit. Just too unreliable to use. I also find that if an enemy uses specific spells, they're usually strong to them like how skeletons cast poison on you and you don't want to cast poison on them. Living armor implies you're getting healed, which the healing should usually go to your tanky frontline guy who wants to get hit. You have enough magic armor through gear and jewelry, that it isn't enough to take over getting mnemonic which essentially let's you put 3 points into intelligence for a 15% damage boost. Just my 2. 5 cents.
@Silduril
@Silduril 7 жыл бұрын
I see your point. I guess for the kind of wizard build you describe here, both talents aren't that useful... mine's a bit different. My wizard is an elf with necromancer, hydrosophist and aerotheurge. Flesh sacrifice --> mosquito swarm (I'm still in act 1, so I'll probably change that combo once I get more skills) is a nice opener, and I usually stand in blood, water, or an electrified / frozen version of either during combat. Living armor also works very well with necromancer and I need it because I like to stay close to the action and manipulate the battlefield around me in my party's favour (this also means I have less use for far out man). Mnemonic is a must-have of course, but you don't really need it before level 4 as you noted in your video.

Oooor, you can make 2 lone wolf wizards and forget about chalenge from level 4. That wizzard will have all 4 elements along with 10 in poly (20 int)+ 2 in huntsman (for teleport and first aid). Its the most fun you can have in the game, at least i did. Stuff goes wet, then poisoned, then boom, then you just watch your frame rate drop. Later on enemies just start battles half dead. It's not the best 1 target build, but as soon as you get a stack of 3+ he's the king.

Wife and I are picking this up on PS4 this weekend and I'm looking for suggestions on party composition. I know she will play some kind of mage, and I love pet classes so considering a summoner. Is it better to focus the group on one type of damage due to the armor system, or have a mixed lot? Would an all casty group work?
@KhorneDeth1

Awesome vids man, glad I got on the like+subscribe train early! My suggestion for a video would be for a full party build, like physical party or mage party. Mixed parties (phys and magical) seem less optimized sadly, but maybe I'm just a min-maxer like that.

I actually beat the game on tactician using a battlemage. Since the red-prince has to be a frontline fighter in my eyes (he just does not look right as a ranged character); being a lizard, i had to basically make him a pyro staff wielding battlemage. I maxed out pyro, pumped wits and intelligence; only pumped str so he can wear heavy armour at lvl 20 (needs 14 str), slotted fire runes on a 3 slotted amulet for the crits, and armor for the fire resist. Obviously you want a bit of points (from gear or from allocation) into aero, geo, poly, warfare, scoundrel for the utility and mobility; but after maxing pyro (its a multiplicative bonus making it better than the additive bonus of 2h or int) and getting utility just pump the rest into 2h; since somehow the crit multiplier works on spells, making it better than scoundrel. You should end the game around level 20+ so it should be enough points with 20 skill allocation.
