Quick tip, you can get adrenaline for Fane with corpse eater early on by transform to an elf with his mask on the boat

at the start you've Fane's Mask, so you steal the "chunk of flesh", then transform into an elf, then eat it

THE best guides for divinity 2 by fking far, all of them, i disagree with the necro here tho, mostly in lone wolf with just 1 point you get lvl 2 necro plus just 1 item or so and you get insane support skills, dmg boost, plus instant heals since your dmg with a rogue is absurdly broken, just 3 necro automatically heals my character in lvl 15 with each hit, i dont usually get hit, and i didnt take necro for heals so its just a nice bonus, death wish, bone cage, edge, all amazing, if you grab comeback kid too you are a killing machine that cant die.

Something you might have wanted to have mentioned is the Medusa polymorph spell. Since a rogue is a melee fighter, typically they are in the thick of the fight. While they rarely do any magic damage, they will often be surrounded by people who have no magic armor if the mage is doing their job, not to mention chloroform is amazing. The Medusa spell is one of the best spells in the game by a large margin, with minimum of 1 enemy locked down for 3 turns for 2 AP, and a huge AOE petrification for another 2 once per use.

Rogues shouldn't be fighting melee fighters, they should be using movement abilities to evade the fighters and go right for the opponents who have low physical armor like mages. The 2 ap investment is a lot to be dealing damage that scales off on int and can't crit and I think it'd be better on a true frontliner.

Best ranger build is "necromancer + warfare + ranged + summonor". Also skills that u need most r retreating or improvising ones. Skills like shackles of pain and vanishing r most essential in this game. Wits from level 14 to 20 is compulsory skill to have but this does not apply to dagger rogue build mostly as backstabs r critical. Surviving in Start game is harder than the endgame so better go watch playthrough of "kaen" or "divinity 2 guide of tacnitician difficulty" by major slack as he explained all battles in awesome and ez way.

Good build, but I think I still like my full glass cannon Fane better =p You can't really get it rolling before Driftwood but after that things just die. Max out dual wield, warfare and finesse, get gear with scoundrel/finesse/warfare/initiative/wits, get 5 glowing idol of rebirth, get glass cannon, comeback kid and either pawn or executioner (depending on preference). Survival, CC and armor? Fuck that, don't need it. Here is what you do: Place yourself in sneak in a good spot before a battle, once combat starts open up with a backlash right into something and continue to wreck shit on your next turn. You won't be able to die, and whatever cc they place on you can be cleared by another character before the turn comes. As a bonus, if you have the highest initiative and the last to enter combat, you will get 2 turns back to back for free. Sprinkle inn some flesh sacrifice in elf form, adrenaline, time warp or even haste + clear mind from another character before you and whatever else you might have and let's just say not a lot lives through that =)

Just wanted to point out that crit chance *is* very good for rogue, despite what you're suggesting. You want your special attacks to always crit, otherwise they're lackluster. Crit Chance caps at 99%, and is definitely achievable if you're going Lone Wolf for instance. Necromancer is amazing, not for the spells, but for the healing. In fact necro is probably a must-have skill to dump points into, despite almost solely using Scoundrel spells. I would recommend focusing on: Dual Wielding, Scoundrel, Warfare, Necro, poly (1 point for Chameleon) and Aero (2 points for teleport and uncanny evasion; teleport placement is incredibly important for rogues later on). Also btw Protip: if you do a Fane run as suggested, you can still get Adrenaline for free in the ship. Simply transform into an Elf, eat the murdered dude's leg, and free adrenaline for Fane!

I played as a rogue as the Beast for my first play through, was kinda disappointed how late game he struggled to do damage on par with the rest of the team. My deathknight red prince was out performing him hard in terms of physical damage, even with guaranteed crits and cut tendons. Not sure how I was going wrong in my build, I put roughly 10 into dual wield, 5 into polymorph (which went into finese) and 5 in scoundrel...

You could try what I did then, but you kinda need Fane for that. I just went 10/10 in dual wield and warfare and maxed finesse. Other than bosses it easily takes out a target in 1 turn while still being able to CC with warfare skills. Polymorph is neat and all, but the raw damage boost is hard to pass up. With the right gear you still get a good amount of scoundrel for crit and whatever else you need to use other skills.

No, pump points into Finesse early. Messfunkt had it right. You want to put your points into Finesse early because you don't need the memory slots just yet, and wits might give initiative, but the extra crit is wasted if you're positioning right for backstabs.

Why Fane over Sebille for rogue?

+sonicman Couple of reasons 1. Fane gets infinite lockpicks due to his 'skeleton key' passive 2. Play dead skill feels more useful for melee classes which rogues are 3. I like running Sebille as a summoner/ranger because I feel flesh sacrifice synergizes better with that moveset But I do believe the elf class is just way more OP than the rest so both can work

Stahl Definitely would agree here. Second video I've watched from this guy and it's pretty clear he's more adept with the game than he is with making videos (nothing especially wrong with that since its a guide video). My constructive criticism would be to try and organise the videos better by splitting them up into clear cut segments. There were a few areas in this and the other video that were just straight up confusing due to either poor editing or sound mixing, so that'd be something to work on. Apart from that he's definitely informative
