I remember some guys tried to retcon that stormtroopers where actually missing on purpose so they could let han, leia and luke escape, in an attempt to find the rebel base. Since princess leia hint it was "way too easy to escape the death star". Of course in real life, you whouldn't be able to fight using that helmet :D

Just took delivery of my Original Stormtrooper Armor kit. Wow, what an amazing set of Stormtrooper armor. It was amazingly well packed, and everything fit very well. The manual doesn't look like the spiral bound one shown by Linus, quite a bit thinner version. Your video & evaluation definitely helped me make my decision to buy from these guys. Only complication was the fact they do not sell or ship to the States for some reason, so I purchased in Canadian dollars and shipped to a buddy up there who then brought it across the border for me. Strange... And yes Linus, I also wish I was about 4" taller! 😄 Overall, a very good experience with the crew at Shepperton Design Studios.

Eh it's more likely that they were doing the same thing that real soldiers do, in where they do not like to shoot civilians, that is why in war they try to dehumanise the opposing party because no one want to shoot another man, but if you can stop them from being a man they are more likely to shoot. They troopers were happy to gun down the uniformed rebels whom all looked the same and were dehumanised, but when they saw a young boy, a young girl, and some guy in a waistcoat, well they saw them as people so missed deliberately. When questioned about it many soldiers in the real world admit to this. In fact in firing squads most of them have blanks and there is only a couple of real bullets, this si so that when they think about it they can say "I probably didn't have the bullet" this allows them to disolve themselves of the guilt.

Jordan Stocker Kinda, but as per the clone uprising, after which Palpatine commissioned the creation of a new clone army which wasn't as skilled or as physically capable. As evidenced by the original clone uprising, indoctrination only goes so far. Generally it is incredibly difficult if not nearly impossible to create a level of indoctrination so deep that it over rides base instinct. Also by the point of the original trilogy Stormtroopers weren't only clones, they were also human recruits from different planets, the number and rate at which they could create clones was severely disrupted after the clone uprising which was partly caused by a Kaminoans covert rebellion against the empire.

Not to be THAT guy but the original designer was Brian Muir not Aaron Ainsworth. His armor pieces are recasting of the 3rd gen Empire strikes back stunts modified to look like A New Hope heroes. I'm not sure about now but for a while he wasn't allowed to ship to the US due to legal issues with Lucasfilm. Being a member of the 501st I was told to stay clear of this guy, there are much better looking options for a much lower price than this guy is asking for.

No, Brian Muir was involved with modelling (most famously the Vader mask) but the person who made the original model for the Stormtrooper helmet was a lady - can't recall her name. Ainsworth just pulled some plastic. There have been some big lawsuits involved and a lot of detail came out as a result.

Her name was Liz Moore, Ainsworth would have you believe that 'He alone' developed the suits , from concept to finished 'armour'.. have a look on the web for 'the darkside of SDS', the truth is out there, The 501st are a costuming group set up by Albin Johnson, they wear costumes from Star Wars to raise money for sick children, George Lucas celebrated the work that they do by naming the onscreen clones that go with Anakin into the jedi temple... Thanks for that, it's been a while since I looked at the whole debacle. Remaining mindful that this has already been the subject of court cases, the model has been attributed to Nick Pemberton by the courts, with recognition that Ainsworth made some changes when he was producing them. This was largely influenced by an old photo showing Lucas and the model in terracotta (Pemberton) rather than grey (Moore). However, more recently, people have applied colour correction to the photo (based on other known colour references) and guess what... the model appears to be made with grey clay (Moore)!

Getting the original sound effect for a blaster is easy. Just tap something metal on a tentioned steel cable (can normally be found on zip wires in play parks (not the actuall wire, but conected from the top of an end to the ground)) as that is what was used for the films.

Shouldn't the red be on left (port), and the green on the right (starboard)? It seems a bit... off. It's reversed. Stormtroopers appear in space vessels, which would take a nod to Navy vessels. Therefore, red=left, green=right. Since the person putting on the suit will always be facing forward in his/her own eyes, he/she is always at the helm, facing fore. Therefore, red=left, green=right. I dunno, I'm just bored. Love the channel.

Members do have SDS armour though it is frowned upon due to legal actions between LFL and SDS aka Andrew Ainsworth, so in a way yes your right. Brain Muir, Liz Moore sculpted and designed the armour and helmet ,fabrication into plastic was down to Andrew Ainsworth- you can't wear a lump of sculpted clay. The controversy comes from the truth as to whether he still has the original moulds, which is disputed! If you have SDS armour and want 501st membership then I think you will be at the back of the que just ahead of rubies!

Umm this is great and all but I just went to their site and they seem to ship EVERYWHERE but the US. I added a full suit of the Shadow Trooper armor, the E11, neck seal, and the E11 holster went to check out and no option to ship to the US. Thank you Linus for getting my hopes up. not qualified for the 501st with that ripoff armor...never got disappointed with your videos before this one if you make some research that armor is not even half the quality and value the armor of the 501st members owned/make...but keep the good work on the other videos 👍

Keven González I have commented on the reason this armour is rebuked by 501st due to legal reasons further up this listing. Forums are members opinions, not facts! Now can you tell me the sole purpose of 501st legion and why it exists? Please do not tell me as if I do not know. I do- do you??????

The only way to get a 501 approved armor is to hand make it. Which not everyone has the time or resources to make it. But the 501st does has the best looking armor.

Hello my name is Kevin Greenfield and I'm a massive star wars fan and I love stormtrooper, s and I love the empire strikes back stormtrooper costume it's really cool when you put the helmet and the microphone head set and when you speak into the microphone it's not you any more your a real stormtrooper and that's with its so cool.
