I gave this one a thumbs up. A thumbs up for too seriousness. This isnt an image thing. We arent portraying anything. This is just who we are and have been. It isnt about setting a fire in the woods ( it was on pavement) or doing things illegally. This video is about friends and not taking life too seriously. We understand that we are a growing company and that we have a large influence on the community, but honestly, take a look at any skate videos produced from Girl, Chocolate, Zoo York, Baker, any of them. No helmets, way more intense. Yet you still see millions of kids out there that wear helmets when they skate. This is due to good parents that care about their children's saftey, and I feel that that's where it should remain. Keep it safe! -Derek

Hey dacilibird, I completely sympathize with you and guitarchick, and I totally understand where you're coming from. However, what must be understood is that, although what you see in this video may look intense, it's really not and is fairly relaxed. When all of us are going down these hills, we are very aware of what lies ahead of us, and we are very aware of our limits. If our riders feel that it is necessary to wear protective gear, then by all means, they will do so.

@lokillababygirl I suggest checking out the pintail series. On our youtube page watch the Longboarding Pintail video. They are great for beginners because they're strong, stable, stiff, and they come in 4 different sizes depending on your height, weight, and the type of riding you are looking to do.

Hey funk, I would recommend getting a board that will be fairly stable and I would advise that at first you don't go down any hills that are too steep, wouldn't want to eat it on one of your fist runs! If you need help finding the right board, tell us your height and weight and we'll help you out!

Flexdex was one of the brands that got us into making boards. Rad stuff. I think the Pro 40 is a pintail style board from FlexDex. That being the case I might try something new beyond the Pintail 40. Maybe one of the new Drop Frereides or an Apex 40?

@budbongboard The Pintail 37 is a great option for your height and weight. Its also a great beginner board. They should be back in stock in a few days to a week, but keep checking as we are getting shipments in each day of different stuff. -Joel

@MrAsianOne Both boards would work well as they are both mounted w/out risers and with S8 trucks. If your not into the freeriding and tricks the Pintail 40 is a good option. If you ever want to get into that stuff the go for the Apex. -Joel

@98longboarder The Apex 37 is a great choice for carving and tricks. Twin tip and S8 trucks are a good match for that style of riding. Right now we are only offering the new carbon version but the 34 will be offered in a more classic construction. -Joel

@mirrororrimage Considering you already have skateboarding experience, it shouldn't be too hard for you to make the transition. That being said, I would suggest that you check out either the Apex 37, Pintail 40 or Torpedo 40!

@jcindehouse The 34 is a great board for doing tricks, while still allowing for great carving and sliding. It's a fairly light board and we should have it back in stock by the end of February

I watched this series about 3 years ago. I can say that with confidence that this specific video series has shaped me as both a person, and as a longboarder. Original has the ability to join together amazing stories and great footage of longboarding to create some of the most honest and compelling films in the industry, both in the longboarding community and outside of it. hi! i realy love your videos and im only twelve but i love to longboard but i suck at it. i have a sector nine burleigh. about a year or two ago i just saw this video. it was the PR session. i felt like that video was asking me to click it so i did and that inspired me. i listen to mgmt's time to pretend when i go out now but im working on my push up slides and its not working. do you have any advise?

I already got a Madrid board that i've been riding for a month or so. But what deck do you prefer to me when I got some more skills? you guys have been so inspiring to me because 2 years ago i was diagnosed with osgood schlatters diesease. it is where there is millions of microfractures in the tibial tublecure. it is a very painfull and nasty diesease and has prevented me from skateboarding/longboarding for many many many years now. i used to be amazing at it, but because of this, i no longer can skate. but thanks to you guys i am trying to get back out there and skate. THANK ALL YOU GUYS!!

Hi ! I live in a city which its next to the mountain.. and i have a lot of big hills, and some nice places to downhill. I'm 165 pounds, and 1 meter and 85 tall. I really like to cruise but i like carving to. I'm looking something to ride hills. I was thinking at custom 35, or pintail 40.. but I dont know.. what will you recommend? So I'm about five feet and 90 pounds. I've ridden on my other friend's longboards before, but they were unstable at higher speeds. What would be a good all-around board for me? I want to be able to carve and go fast but be stable. I also need something that pushes easy.

@lokillababygirl you should start off with a Pintail they are good for cruising and stuff but people get so good so quickly that you need to advance to a different board so you should get a freeride from original
