That's why it's called Pokemon Legends Z-A because its usually takes place before the original game comes up. The holographic presentation is just a blueprint for redeveloping the urbanize Lumiose City. The key words here we know it's before XY is the "A Vision of beautiful coexistence between people and Pokemon..." means that there are still conflict with the relationship if pokemon and humans. Modern eras are now getting along with pokemon but here it's to coexist. Also not a coincidence that they choose Kalos after Paldea because Paldea is a representation of Spain so it's near France which Kalos is based on. Not gonna be surprised if they mentioned Paldea and Galar (representation of UK) because they were in war before.

That doesn't at all mean it's in the past. Given that the game takes place entirely in the city, it would make sense that the redevelopment is about adding more nature to the city and allowing for wild pokemon to coexist in the city, not just allowing trainers to have pokemon there

@@eeeeggnog._. I agree on that as well but if you look at the history of Paris in 1850s to 1870s, they literally renovated the entire Paris called it a "redevelopment plan" for people to enjoy the city with lights. But we will never know until we see the actual game.

@senpaitsuy I read that the Paris redevelopment was largely to open up the city and add more green and water. Since modern Lumiose didn't really have any of that and we need to be able to encounter wild pokemon, I think it still makes more sense to take place after XY. It would make sense that way too cause Zygarde's whole thing is balancing the ecosystem, so maybe he's mad at us cause Lumiose is getting too big and wiping out too much nature

Finally someone else who reacted positively to the TCG app like I did. That looks so cool to me! I hope they have Surprise Trades where you can randomly send away a duplicate or something and match with someone else randomly trading. I've never been into TCG battling so the simpler new mode excites me too. I'm hyped for both games but honestly might be most hyped for the TCG right now. The immersive cards are dope, can't wait to look forward to opening my two free packs each day.

We're finally getting Mega Evolution back & we're FINALLY GETTING POKEMON Z!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Albeit it's interesting that it's in the form of a Legends game; and interesting theories that are forming are possibly either taking place in the era of AZ's time when he was king/the warring Kalos period OR due to despite being a Legends game but we have Cities & the wording of Redevelopment Plans & the art maybe Z-A might take place in the future!!!! My main hope for that when it comes to Megas that we get more Kalos pokemon would get Mega Evolutions considering it's the region that kickstarted the mechanic. A majority of Megas that we have now (from most to least; not including Reversion) mainly are from: Hoenn (20), Kanto (13), Johto (6), Sinnoh (5), & Unova + Kalos have 1 each; so it would be nice to even it out with the region that started the phenomenon for Kalos to gain more Mega Evolutions

I went through and played all the gens during quarantine (previously stopped on Emerald when I was a kid) but somehow I couldn't get into Legends. I was SO STOKED when I heard about it, then played it for like 4hrs, and haven't touched it since, hated it.

I don't think this takes place in the past. Time in space was the gen four gimmick. Gen six was all about life and death, hence a redevelopment plan trying to "breathe new life" into the Kalos region after Team Flair tried to destroy it.

Also, bringing back Megas would lend itself to a future Lumiose, since they'll undoubtedly add new megas, how would there be any megas if this was the past, and if it was there wouldn't be new ones. These are 3 smoking guns that lead me to think this is a Lumiose of the future.
