They're Yemen militia. As a rule they're very harsh on the civilians. Not all, true, but many. Besides, if you dont kill any you get dropped regardless of which choice you pick.

Marcus Romulus The soldiers you are killing are Yemeni military. The militia is who you are working with (undercover), and they are the ones who support Cordis Die and Raul Menendez. The Yemeni military is allied with the Americans.

Miguel Delgado wrong, you do need strike force to get the good ending. If you complete strike force the Chinese come in and stop the Obama from getting destroyed on that mission. This saves Karma and Briggs from dying on the ship. They do die if the ship is destroyed so you will get the bad ending even if you do everything right except strike force. The next best thing is to just execute Raul so he doesn’t kill Woods at the end if you go down this path without doing strike force. Also the White House gets burned to the ground and uprising start everywhere in America if you kill Raul

You should play the Battlefield 1 campaign it’s really unique as it’s “War stories”, so the whole campaign isn’t centred around one character or story but around multiple different ones at different parts of the first world war

As for Black Ops 3: it basically takes place almost 50 years from Black Ops 2, in the background it shows the effect of the 2025 crisis of Menendez's control of the drones and also delves into some pieces of Black Ops 1. As well as the effect we have on the world with super storms and augmentation of cybernetics. The problem I think most with it is that you do not play as a descendant of David/Alex Mason. Infact you have no ties to them at all. The enemy in particular: The secondary enemies are similar to Noriega's men or the Mercs in Black Ops 2. They have a job to do or they believe they are protecting their own. While the primary enemy "The Main Antagonist" well you'll see...

Here are a few Pointers in case you want to get a good ending (don't read the fifth until you finish the game). First, you must save karma, for this you can shoot defalco with a thermal sniper. Second, you must not kill mason. Third, kill Harper. Fourth, don't kill briggs. Fifth, capture menendez

Original Human, if you see this, i want you to know, black ops 3 does have some references, but the game is set in a world where you experience your life flashing before your eyes, the whole campaign shows how you live your life before you die, so don't get too confused, i think you'd still like it, but to be truthful, the multiplayer in bo3 was what everyone liked more. it took me a while to understand

If your going to play Black Ops 3 know this. You die in the first mission, the whole game is your life flashing before your eyes as you trying to fight off death. You imagine yourself with the prosthetic enhancements you were supposed to get on missions you did do, but not how you are imagining them. Don’t be upset because its not connected to black ops 1 or 2. Just enjoy the story. If you can remember these things the story is much much better. Its a good story if you give it a chance. In BO3, the entire premise of what's happening to the soldiers is result of the drone stuff happening in this game. Additionally there remnants of Menendez and Nova 6, the game just shows the long term consequences of everything that's happened

The only ties for bo3 with bo2 and 1 is the nova 6 gas at the end and a mention of Raul Menendez but i have played the game and it is pretty good the only problem it is messy

The only thing I've seen is one character mention Menendez once and it was like a little over half way in the game. Maybe they say more but the story in general is not tied with black ops 1/2
