Only problem with this video of the unmaking of india the creator didn't show the true face of islamic invaders they were as bad as britishers and other European christian colonizers but only difference was that islamic invaders didn't had the means to take all the wealth of india to there homeland and also many other reasons which i can't write all in the comment section

@@rahulsharma-ht7ut , Bengals government at the time was elected by bengalis and constiuted by bengali politicians who did not declare the famine codes. Secondly Bengals population had gone from 4 million to 60 million in 40 years and had a very precarious food situation in peacetime with food being supplied by rail from other parts of India and ships through the Bay of Bengal with a large ammount of the food supply coming from Burma. As with most Indian arguments "the war had nothing to do with us" is simply not true - Japanese troops invaded and occupied Burma cutting off the food supply and making it impossilbe to send ships into the Bay of Bengal. Britain and the British Indian Army defeated the Japanese at Kohima and Imphal - preventing the invasion of India and making it possible to supply food to Bengal. Similarly being an industrial powerhouse in the 16th Century means nothing compared to the 19th century post steam power and the industrial revolution, just as Britain being an Industrial Giant in the 19th Century means nothing in the 21st, Indian GDP growth was actually greater in the colonial period than it was in the preceeding periods.

The Great Bengal Famine was one of the worst atrocities of British Raj. It was so much worse than Jallianwala bagh in Amritsar. Cutting out Bangla from India is another reality of British Colonial Enterprise. Their divide and rule policy. Otherwise we would be one country brother. You need not have to suffer alone by urself there with Global warming and melting Himalayas there are more floods than famines in the Delta region where Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers meet Bay of Bengal I believe. U would have rushed over to save and help instead of waiting for visas to cross over. U could have simply been another state in India itself. I so would just wish you know instead of radical islamic fundamentalists trying to ruin everything. If Modi could be given enough power to ask all the states from Indian subcontinent if they want to review and revise the annexation to India and let Nepal, Bangladesh, Sindh, Kashmir, Myanmar, Afghanistan and even Tibet😂 if they would like to join back to India as Indian subcontinent. We would become number 1 economy in next 5-10 years tops. More IITs & AIIMS hospitals and Railways. And More IPL teams. More sports centres and cultural revision. I mean Bengali people are amazing artist. Be it Ship building as this video mentioned or literature or beautiful ladies Except we don't want radicalisation, Which will be most obviously funded to break India yet again to slower it's growth rate. As we all know they are that insecure. But may be like EU we could be IU ... Then Rahul Gandhi can go ahead and tell random people who don't give a damn how India is not a nation but union of states 😂😋🤪🤦🏻‍♀️ But then After Smriti Irani going to Saudi and the way Twitter exploded in hatred from Muslims of Indian subcontinent and Arabs telling them their place. I mean if only these Muslims could really realize and be like Indonesian Muslims who do namaz but also do Ramleela and have Ganesh and Laxmi on their currency and accept their Indian roots. And we can revive and revisit Thumri and Qawali songs I mean that was sourced on Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb and everything. I mean that would really mark the beginning of Satyug by far I suppose. It be fun to not hate or look down upon nobody and give everyone equal opportunity. But we do need UCC in place and learn everything from our past mistakes. And the fact that Qila k darwaze humesha andar se khole gaye. Otherwise we were impenetrable Marvel's of Architecture. We need to punish double agents worse than death. We can fight among ourselves as brothers inside family but family always has to stick together no matter what and if anyone who tries to help sow discord and help fund the family break. Need to be beheaded on the spot. After giving ur brother's heads up n catching that mthrfkr redhanded in the act ofcourse. That way nobody can be able to do that to us ever again. Otherwise how could handful of Goras rule entire freaking subcontinent by few rounds of ammunition? And keep backups of all knowledge collected in different universities and not put everything under one roof of Takhasila and Nalanda to be so easily destroyed by anyone ever again. And I accept for the fact that Bengalis can add so much to that collection. And have everything translated in as many languages and then send them to different universities which can teach them in their own language and each brilliant mind can contribute in their own language and that gets translated so that there can be healthy discussion and debates and grow n learn from each other without letting their mother tongue or regional languages disappear in time. Aah the wishful thinking ❤😊 And all in good faith and no invasions. No persecution and No forced conversions. But I feel Ram mandir is masterstroke. Like Vatican and Mecca we will have Shri Ayodhya. And religion or not it's good business. Similar to Statue of Unity. Religious tourism. If Bangladesh and Pakistan simply could rebuild temples and UNESCO heritage properties. Boom their economy will skyrocket from Religious tourism alone. They need not become Terrorist if they could simply get more tourists. They will flourish and we can ask Modiji to join one temple to next with fast bullet trains . We could ask Japan to help connect Afghanistan - Gilgit- to Tibet to Srilanka. Love Triangle. I mean the amount of tourism boom. I mean India is already ahead of China in matter of population. With rest states joining in.. so if simply the Hindus could do pilgrimage all across without extra cost of passport n visas. But their food and stay and souvenirs spending will pull everyone out of their poverty. But we are afraid of religious persecution and that's we don't want to. Instead we have to bring CAA-NRC. Aah guess I will just have to trust Modiji and Yogiji to figure out details 😂😂

My man I am in tears after watching this. I know about our history and what happened but this is the first time I was able to visualise it. As an Indian it was truly horrible to think about how we suffered. We don't care about the money or anything but the fact that millions and millions of people died because they where denied food is very scaring and horrifying for me. Today we demand our parents that we dont like this food we want something else. We eat what we like and leave what we dont just imagine the state of the people at that time who had nothing, Imagine about the father who would give everything in order to secure a meal for him and his family. Again you have to be careful how you interpret statistic, India had a proportionally large population and large amounts of natural resources but it had no industrial revolution India's economic growth was larger during the colonial period than it was in the preceeding period, in fact the Indian economy was largely collapsing due to internal factors before colonialisation.
@tomriley5790
@tomriley5790 Жыл бұрын
@@rahulsharma-ht7ut again this was basically untrue - yes churchil said some stuff that taken out of context sounds bad but usually after particularly annoying things - so for example even whilst trying to supply the bengal famine and defend India from Japanese invasion the Indian independence movement was still attacking British Troops. Plus it's simply not true that Britain did not try to resupply Bengal with food, Bengal had a tenuous food supply in the prewar period - with a population rising from 4 million in 1904 to 60 million in 1944 due to improved medical care and vaccinations, static agricultural practices and smaller farms due to divisions of land between surviving children, Bengal was dependent on food from Burma which was then invaded by Japan and cut off, similarly despite there being food elsewhere in India it couuldn't be transported to Bengal due to japanese submarines and airpower over the Bay of Bengal (Calcutta was also bombed making it harder to unload supplies), food was supplied from Australia and offered by Canada but there wasn't shipping free to take it across the Pacific - the US was asked by Churchill if they could supply it but they didn't have it available either. It was compounded by not activating the famine codes (which had largely prevented famines in India in the colonial period). The Bengal famine only ended when the British (including British Indian Army) pushed the Japanese back after Kohima and Imphal and shipping could again safely enter the Bay of Bengal, plus the harvest in Bengal itself. Similarly the treatment of refeeding syndrome was developed in Bengal, later used in the concentration camps.

What saddens me is that despite the passage of time, these aspects remain concealed from the Western public eye. India continues to be one of the most stereotyped countries, and when we attempt to share our experiences, we are often dismissed. Many Westerners are taught that they "civilized" India and Africa. Even after Indian independence, India was often portrayed as a poster child for third-world countries. I appreciate you watching this video, we don't hold people of today responsible for what happened, we were also to blame for letting it happen to us. The only reconciliation we can get is an acknowledgment of what really happened instead of trying to subvert the truth.

India before 1000A.D was rarely conquered, Buddhists had built excellent uncorrupt administration and defences. They fought Greeks, Persians and stayed undefeated majorly. Afterwards Hinduism (Brahmanism) took over and varna (caste) system was installed. The society weakened to the core that couldn't defend itself against any invaders. We had lost it all. India was considered as a crown jewel in the British Empire. Today's U.K. is mostly piggy backing on the past achievements of British Empire, You can clearly see the downfall of British Empire's hegemony around the world right after all the major colonies snatched their independence after WWII. It's good to acknowledge the mistakes made in past but equally important to learn and educate today's generation, which for a fact, UK is not doing. Their horrible deeds need to taught in schools across UK. If UK needs some inspiration... look no futher that your neighbor Germany. Young germans are taught in school about the atrocities committed by Naazee Germany so that upcoimg generation learns from the past and knows what not to do. These kind of sympathetic gestures are missing in British society. I have seen many British people claiming they are proud of British Empire and it's the best thing about UK. Here, in India, The British Empire is seen as a looter. We have no respect for the empire and don't want to be associated with it. That's why we became republic and we have our President (Head of state) unlike Canada/Australia who still considers the ruling monarch as their head of state. So much to unpack here, but I'm glad you took the step in right direction.

Yeah, India would've been divided in Princely states. The Mughal empire was already on the verge of collapse. Unless a great king was born to unite India, India wouldn't be what it is today. And honestly, if a king wanted to unite India, he would've had to commit atrocities like the British. It is simple not possible to collapse such powerhouses with just methods.

The fact that they divided us so much is the reason today , Indians feel so united within ourselves. Today there are still some innternal conflict of north and south india. east and north east and west india. All of these places have their different cultures and traditions and languages. But we all still feel united so that something like the colonialism doesnt happen again.

I'm from Bengal, the epicenter of the last great famine during the 'Raj' - the great famine of 1943. Your national hero, Mr. Churchill diverted Indian foodgrain as stockpiles for the british soldiers during WW2, so much so that 3 million Indians died of hunger. He couldn't be the least bothered with the lives of our ancestors though, because when informed that Indians were dying of hunger, he asked "why hasn't Gandhi died yet". My own ancestors survived somehow because they were potato farmers, and sustained themselves somehow on potatoes they grew here and there. They saw some of their own children die of malnutrition, and saw the neighbours die of water borne disease that usually spreads during a famine. From the stories that have been passed on, I know that common Indians would wait outside the bungalows of the English Babus, beside the drains of their kitchens, so that if any food has been discarded and thrown into the drain by the English, they could at least have a nibble. There were dead bodies all over streets, beggars begging from beggars. Mr. Great man of Britain, the ever victorious and ever so glorious Mr. Churchill, killed them slowly through starvation. Let's be honest, you guys weren't any better than the people you were fighting during the WW2. Us Indians remember the pain and suffering of our ancestors. There can never be any forgiveness unless there's atonement for the sins committed. The "oh but the people who did that aren't here anymore and we can't be held responsible" argument doesn't fly, because you have grown up in the economy, infrastructure, luxury and lifestyle built by your ancestors through the exploitation of ours. Every inch of England is built upon and strewn with the blood of Indians. As long as you live, work and identify with that land, you are responsible for repentance. Not monetarily, we are richer than you now. But through remorse and regret. By teaching your kids the truth about their ancestors, and teaching them the difference between right and wrong, so they can learn from the crimes of the past and grow beyond the "we are great you are not" mentality, which most Britons exhibit to this day. You can repent by teaching your children to accept the truth, express regret, and move on in their life without the idea of being the superior people or race. You can repent by dismantling institutions like the British museum and giving back the former colonies their native artefacts looted and transported to England during the colonial era (also called thievery), which many of us have been wanting for decades. Lastly, you can repent by acknowledging our truth without giving up your own identity, by learning to take pride in the right things - kindness, generosity and humanity, and building a legacy for that instead of relying on the colonial era as your legacy. It's not 'India against Britain' anymore, but there can be no 'India and Britain' if there's no repentance.

First of all, the people replying that you need to calm down are fuckin' retarded. You're right to be angry, absolutely. I think most British people nowadays are good and if they learnt about their ancestors' past atrocities, they'd rightfully be upset. You bring up good points of how things can be repented, as you said about the British museum and the artefacts there. While I agree with you, I do think it's quite possible a lot of artefacts will go missing if given back (due to the terrible governments some of the old colonies do currently have).

This is simply not true it's what the antibritish independence movmenet made up. Great efforts were made to supply food to Bengal (and had been throughout the early 1940s) however Japan invaded Burma cut the food supply off to Bengal not to mention 6million refugees and led to the famine. Britain tried to supply the food that was possilbe however ships could not sail inthe Bay of bengal (Calcutta's docks were bombed) until the Japanese army was defeated at Kohima and Imphal, preventing the Japanese invasion of India and then food could be brought in that ended the famine. Indian sources never mention this, neither do they mention the introduction of the famine codes that essentially eradicated famine in India and are more or less still in use today (altered slightly after the famin in 1968). Similarly the Bengali government that failed to declare the famine in 1943 was elected by bengali's and constituted by begnali politicians. Or that famine was a regular occurance in India in precolonial times. Did the British do some bad things in India, yes clearly, but Indian's were sold a very populist antibritish story by the independence movment which continues to this day.

If you haven't already, please react to "Who are the Tamil people", for some insight into the thousands of years of history unique to the south of modern-day India, and how it's mark on the rest of the world already exists :)

We are Friends. Past shouldn't be forgotten and we should take lessons from it but carrying it forward doesn't serve the future. We must think of our future together as prosperous nations. 🇮🇳❤️🇬🇧

No bro still majority of British people think Indian's as their selves. If they really think we are friends they give back our staffs. Only we Indian's forgive them but their narrow mentally still exists in majority of British peoples. We never be friends not until their mentality changed.

Well your commentary/views on this video is just amazing 😍 . I've seen so many Brits react to various videos on how inhumane and cruel the British colonizers were , they try to justify it some way or the other . But you accepted the cruelties of the people of your culture and also said that it is in fact necessary for Brits to know about this so that it does not repeat anywhere again. Excellent, you just earned a new subscriber!❤

I cried towards the end. I see people struggling even today. I have interacted with artisans whose ancestors risked their lives to pass on their art to the next generation. People say we are wooed by west, it’s just that Brits whitewashing was so intense that it stayed even generations later. But things are changing. Our peasant culture is producing more professional experts, taking people to mars, generating revenue for this vast diversity. I am proud of my country, my people and my history. I admire your courage to say what you said. A lot of people/cultures don’t want to acknowledge the past. I don’t think it’s about acknowledging it’s about ensuring that history doesn’t repeat itself.

You don't have to be ashamed... You are spreading this knowledge to the world... Telling people everything about India that people often ignore. Do a video on the story of Jalianwala Bagh Massacre and the story of Udham Singh. It was one of those tragedies that Indians have it engrained in their minds.

Brother.....being an Indian...all I can say is....I personally believe that the most supreme power of this universe is the power of love.... Whatever has happened in the past has happened...India has rebounded for the better and now we are the fastest growing economy in the entire 🌍....India has never started a single war in the past ....we only want to share love...but the world is not intelligent enough to accept the fact that love is above ego......I identify myself as a universal identity ...the only difference between you and me is the color of our skin....but deep inside ....we are exactly the same.... You know what the problem with some humans is?....in this huge unending universe, in this tiny Lil solar system...on this microscopic planet...in a miniscule country, in a tiny city ...in some random extreme tiny house ..we are a big man....

If anything we Indians can be very proud is even if we had chance we never ever invaded any country in the world though we were capable for 1000s of years. This one fact is enough for every Indian to live and die in peace. The future looks promising, yet we wouldn't behave any different to how our ancestors did. A guest is still a God 🙏🧘‍♂️ Nice video keep it ❤

Thank you many times over for revealing the shocking extent of total bleeding of India by a parasitic Kingdom for their personal gain. So much of this information has not reached many Indians worldwide. Hats off to your clarity and delivery of presentation. Perhaps the most interesting aspects of this video was learning about the cold and calculating nature of those bleeders even as they bled the nation dry.

Thank you for sharing this video. As a 4th Generation Indian living in Trinidad and Tobago, I've learned a fair bit about colonialism in the West Indies and how the British also exploited India for labourers in the British West Inidies and paid them meager wages as Indentured Labourers in the British West Indies. I am grateful that you are teaching your kids, and by extension, a lot of other persons via your videos, about the ills of Colonialism. Kudos to you and keep up the great job. Sending love from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
