Very informative! This clears up so many misconceptions out there about blade attacks. 👍 No hollywood choreography will save you, only realistic training has a chance.

Very true. However, the sad fact remains that some martial arts students (and people in general, for that matter) have spent years learning the choreography and have been conditioned to believe that sort of Hollywood showmanship is the real deal. And because they've believed in that myth for so long, they'd rather continue to believe that fairytale stuff as opposed to accept the real, gritty and chaotic mess of real street fights. Such cognitive dissonance is known as "belief perseverance" in psychological studies.

Spot on. Bruce was very much the opposite. He wasn't afraid to throw things away, wasn't afraid admitting being wrong, even if it meant loosing students. Functionality was the highest goal.

Excellent video. So much delusions in martial art world in this Category. It’s scary and worrying this type of technique is even taught. Have you found any methods that could work in this type of situation if you had kids with you or wife etc?

If that's how you parry it then absolutely you will easily get countered. The 1st error here is the execution of your parry. Once you know how to properly execute it, then the attacker isn't free to counter you easily.

There isn’t any, sprint but you have kids or wife with you? So that out the question…gun is good option but hard to have in certain countries… the stinger would be something to look into, it’s not perfect but like a whip it’s quite efficient and possibly could provide some defence? Tom jkd would be better to ask I think

Not sure about Germany but the uk is big shit 💩 hole to be honest. The only places are the country to get away from big cities
