One afternoon, I was walking with my grandma, we were walking home from visiting her sister, a dust devil was headed straight for us, and my grandma looked at me, and said use this word, she said the word, and the dust devil instantly disappeared. I don’t remember the word, but I knew it was sacred. When you mentioned the 12 words, it jogged my memory. Great job! I like your vids.

I think I could learn from this guy all day every day. This all sounds so new; yet at the same time it seems to explain a lot of very old unanswered questions. This video then seems more special than ever.

He didn't share the Sacred words we used in the beginning to alter our realities. If you know, you know. He shared what the Holy People gave us to communicate with all beings. Yes words are real and you can speak it into existence but that is why Diné bizaad is a very descriptive language vs. American English. It makes you think about what you are really saying to another being.

It is very interesting the parallel of the sacred language & The biblical Tower of Babel account that states the people had one language & the Lord looked down on man and said “We must stop them or there will be nothing they cannot do…come let us confound their language to stop them” and is said The Lord confounded or confused their language. Notice the plural use of the account “We” or holy people. The parallels of many Dine’ historic stories are hard to dismiss as mere coincidence. I believe the Dine’ have recorded the actual sacred events of our history and the stories pop up in different cultures throughout the world.

My great grandma once said that when all languages dies and the only language that's being is spoken is English, then it's the end of the world.

Thank you for sharing this. It's interesting how different cultures share similar stories. There is a story in the Bible about the tower of Babel and God confused the languages so instead of speaking one, human beings now speak many.

thank you for your good words. I am very happy to hear Dine Bizaad words. I joyfully ask the Great Spirit (the Eternal Power - Power of Might and Love and Justice - of all strength and goodness, linking to the deep root of all the First Nations in their ancient understanding) to bless you and all your family amen

Where can I learn Dine Bizaad language? There's a basic course to study online, but it is very basic and not even a person pronouncing each word correctly to learn how to pronounce each word in the right ways.

I am not Dine; I'm a desert person, and feel kin to that; I grew up loving the culture of Native people, but am not one, nor want to pretend to be. I study free language lessons offered on "Duolingo", and they offer "Navajo"....my question is, is that respected by Dine?...I understand from Mr. Brown that words are powerful, and that the original meanings (i.e. calling Kit Carson a hunter rather than a trapper) have often been lost. Is it respectful, or meaningful to try to learn the language, not being of the culture?
@adeleebahe25463 жыл бұрын
Language is culture. If you respect the language, you respect the culture. It should go hand in hand and vice versa. There would be no culture without communication and teamwork. Thus no expanding of our minds and creativity.

Only twelve words, makes one think, like the twelve tribes and twelve apostles. We know that God spread us out and confused our language.
As in late history... teaching begins in humanity ways,no matter what,now that all walks of life speak & communicate on same Language"ENGLISH", can't hide racist policies & regulations from all walks of life.....😉

Alhambra decree, 1492, Jewish population converted to Catholicism and many immigrated from Spain to avoid inquisition including to the Americas not just in Europe. They are the one who were in contact with natives in the 1500’s . Mass migration of homeless Jews thanks to Isabella ended up in Americas and you know what happened to the natives over here.

Sacred is like a gift, it should be shared with everyone not just ones' self... I was fortunate enough to understand most of my native (diné) language but have a bit of a hard time speaking it. I'm still learning and teach non-native about my culture, especially when times are tough on them. They find clarity in what I had learned from my grandma/culture/teachings of life's beauties and experiences. (I can say that most of them change for the better when they understand us through our culture)

First, thank you for your service. The medal around your neck is a great honor. On a previous video, you said the Dineh originally came from the east. How did this come about? Was it a result of conflict with other large groups on the prairie? Did the Dineh have a different name at that time? Again, thanks!
