The Black and White trio doesn't represent Yin and Yang. Reshiram is the seek for the Truth and Zekrom is the follow of the Ideals, while Kyurem was the middle line (the Grey). And when Reshiram and Zekrom were fused with Kyurem long time ago (he's now an "empty shell"), it represented the perfect balance between both truth and ideals.

Yin and yang is more than just embodying good and bad. It’s about all complimenting opposites. Day and night, male and female, rain and sun, etc. it contrasts with wuji as life needs that variety to function. The duo in game frequently reference a contrast between truth and ideals for example with the lesson being that people need both in their lives. Without these complimenting opposites, you are left with nothingness. Hence why kyurem was left as a cold unfeeling husk without its other pieces.
