My father was 5th SF Green Beret and part of MACVSOG. He has a knife just like the one in the beginning of the video. He also has a camouflage hat similar to the one in the video. It has a star of David (even though he is not Jewish) on one side. And it is orange on top when you flip it inside out. The orange side let aircraft know who were American. The VC learned this trick and used it sometimes to keep from getting shot by helicopter gunners (after taking them from dead or captured soldiers). They wore unmarked clothing, carried weapons no newer than the Korean War (he had a grease gun), they had boots that had footprints on the bottom instead of soles, no shitting, no tobacco, NO RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, sneaky stuff.

For me, this was one of the best interviews. As I heard the origins of SOG and Mr. Frazer's experience and background, a lot of what I see in SOG designs, quality, etc. make so much more sense. I always felt there was more behind these knives than just a good knife maker. Thanks. Nutn. My feelings about SOG have just been solidified.

Absolutely fantastic. Nutnfancy never ceases to impress me with the professionalism and continuous striving for and towards the Project. Doesn't fall into the usual interviewer traps of speaking over the speaker or one-upsmanship game. Humility, respect and interest by the guest towards the speaker are a rare thing, and the ones who are worth it are the one who remember. Keep it going strong man.

What a great interview Nuttin. I've been an edged weapons enthusiast since i was a kid. I've also been fortunate enough to own MACV SOG 5th Special Forces blades from SOG, Al-Mar, and Tak Fakuta. Spencer is such an innovator and just a phenominal knife maker.I own about six SOG mfg'd blades and love each one. What a modest and honest guy that gives credit where it is due to folks like Bo Randall and A.G Russell....thanks a million for posting this very informative video on Mr. Frazer.

This is what we want as the TNP audience. Personal sit down style interviews with creators of brands that have become staples in the industry. Joe sho cannot get CEO's and the like in a one on one. Because of the endorsement power of youtube and the tireless dedication of the TNP project (god bless you) sheepdogs have an insight into the mindset of these organizations. It wouldn't be possible however, without you. Tactical Doodle please give the ole guy a pat on the back for this gem of a video.

Best, most reliable, most beautiful knives I've ever had the privilege of using in not so friendly areas, under not so stable circumstances. I've actually got 3 more on the way right now...decided to pick up the Spec Elite II automatic (two of em) and a Spec Elite I standard. Keep up the good work, brother.

Great video Nutn!! I work for a family owned hardware store that has thankfully undertaken knife sales recently. The idea was put in place by myself and my friend (the company VP) a couple of years ago. We both own SOGs and will have their brand along with several others for sale in the very near future. I enjoyed his view in regards to brand separation on a retail level. That is something that I believe in personally across the board (knives, power tools etc.). Thanks for theinterview.

I'm at minute 34 and I want to acknowledge as a long time TNP sub - this video, the editing and the effort put in shows once and for all as an internet celebrity goes Nutn's still humble. This video was not about him, his POU, or even his assessment of the product. He let the man who started the business speak for himself. Anyone that humble after thousands of videos, in my opinion, deserves twice as many subs. If you read this comment - don't hesitate sub right now. I promise you wont regret it
